Miniature Australian Shepherds

&  Mar-A-Lago's Pollyanna
The Miniature Australian Shepherd is a small Australian Shepherd, a breed developed
in the American west primarily as a ranch dog. The purebred Miniature Australian
Shepherd originated from and developed out of Australian Shepherd bloodlines that have continuously and consistently produced small dogs. Enthusiasts who preferred the smaller sized dogs have been breeding this variety since the early sixties.

Since the eighties the Miniature Australian Shepherd can be registered in the National Stock Dog Register. Founded approxemately 10 years ago where two single breed specialty registries.

The Mini Aussie, as friends know him, historically worked as both shepherds and guard dog, moving livestock short and long distances, always keeping a watchful eye over his charges. Today, the Mini Aussie can also be a family dog retaining a strong herding instinct, and is noted for intelligence, energetic temperament and great eagerness to please.

The Mini Aussie should not be regarded as an easy substitute for the Australian Shepherd. Nor should prospective owners expect the "miniature" label to imply a very small (toysized) dog or one of diminished drive. The Minis posses all the qualities and genetic traits of a large Aussie, they just come in a smaller package.

Mini Aussies stand approximately 14 to 18 inches at the withers and average from 20
to 40 pounds. Females are proportionately smaller than males.

Achieving excellence in temperament, health, structure and type is our priority concern. We believe in quality over quantity, and every breeding is carefully researched to maintain the versatility for which the Mini Aussie is known.

We have occassionally puppies or adult dogs available. Our goal is to breed a well rounded individual with perfect structure, excellent temperament, overall soundness, correct movement and performance capability. We only breed when we are breeding for a puppy for ourselves.

All puppies are raised in our house in a family environment with great detail given to each stage of development in order to leave our home solid and well-adjusted ready to reach their full potential.
