Services and Products

Since 1975, I have been repairing and restoring vintage audio gear (both tube and solid state),antique radios, juke and musical instrument amps,Heathkit test gear, and high end 3 motor tape recorders such as Crown,Revox,Ampex,Berlant/Concertone, etc.

I'm also a member of the Southern California Antique Radio Society and also do a lot of work on antique Philco,RCA, Zenith,GE and many more radios.

I can work on ANY brand of gear, even equipment by manufacturers that are long out of business. I'm not a dealer, I dont sell anything nor am I looking to buy your gear- I just want to repair it,quicky and at a price we can both live with.

I've been a bench tech for over 20 years and have learned to fix just about anything. I have a degree from San Diego State University in RF Circuit Design and my specialty is FM and AM tuners and receiver alignment. So, if you've been told that "It can't be fixed, they're out of business, parts no longer available,etc"-call me!

I do a lot of vintage guitar amp repairs. I'm an authorized servicer for Ampeg and Crate and I've done a lot of work on Fender,Marshall,Vox,and many other brands.I'm listed in the Antique Electronics Supply Co. catalog for over 10 years.

Another service is restoring vintage jukebox amplifiers and electronic sub- assemblies:Seeburg,Rockola,Wurlitzer,Rowe/AMI,Mills,etc. I do a LOT of juke amplifiers for customers all over the country. I welcome UPS or mail shipments, and I love to talk hifi, audio, jukeboxes, etc. I no longer do any mechanical work on these machines.

So, if you have a Fisher,Scott,Heathkit,SWTPC (Southwest Technical Products),G.A.S (Great American Sound),McIntosh,KLH, Marantz,Accuphase(there's nothing magical or special about working on Accuphase gear),Sumo, Scientific Audio Electronics (S.A.E),
Harman-Kardon,Sherwood,Kenwood,KLH, MGA (Mistubishi),Microseki,Rotel, Pilot,SAE,Phase Linear,Pioneer,Sansui,Leak,Teac/Tascam,Ampex,Allied/Knight,Lafayette,Altec,Bell,Bogen,Eico,Heath or some "off brand"( Like Acoustech? CM Labs? Brook? Cook? Brociner?)-it does'nt matter- I can almost certainly fix it.I have a huge file of schematics going back to the 20's,and have gotten pretty good at working without schemos if they are not available.
I dont sell parts, tubes, schematics or manuals, sorry, it's enough just keeping up with my repair business.

I do ALL high end FM tuners, including the Marantz 10B,Scott 4310 and 4312, Sequerra, etc. You can read my article "The Birth of the Marantz 10B Tuner" in Vacuum Tube Valley Issue 5, Fall 1996. I have a modified Sound Tech stereo multiplex generator capable of 45+dB of seperation, which is more than adequate for any of these tuners.

And please remember, if you call me from the east coast it's 3 hours EARLIER here in San Diego.I'd like to speak with you,but not at 7am!
It's MUCH faster to contact me by phone than by email, and the phone rings right on my bench. I"m here 7 days a week.
