Hook: Mustad 9672 or favorite nymph hook
Size: 14-20
Thread: Black 6/0 or 8/0
Tail: None
Body: Muskrat dubbing with a few guard hairs
Thorax: Peacock herl or black or dark dubbing
Hackle: None
Start thread and then dub a body to 1/8 shank back from the eye. Tie in a peacock herl and wrap a few turns at the head and tie off. Use no more than three or four turns. Make a small tapered head, whip finish and cement. Pick out the dubbing to give a "buggy" appearance.
