Background: I have been in private practice since 1983. Prior to that, I was in-house counsel for an ERISA plan administrator. Both as in-house counsel and in private practice, I have drafted ERISA plan documents, including: comprehensive plan descriptions; summary plan descriptions; administrative services agreements; and claims manuals. I have represented ERISA plans, medical providers and plan
participants, handling benefit claims disputes through all levels of administrative review,arbitration, litigation in federal court and before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE:
My practice is exclusively limited to representing Long Term Disability Claimants and Medical Providers in ERISA governed claims disputes, litigation, and appeals, involving medical and long term disability benefits. (I do not represent insurance companies.) My practice is currently limited to California and the Ninth Circuit. I have successfully pursued ERISA disability or medical benefit claims against each of the following insurers and employee benefit plans:
