F.Y.I. = Most boaters don't know that a small chip or crack in the gelcoat can allow moisture to penetrate the fiberglass which is unfourtunately permeable. This would allow any wood core materials used on most boats in the past, to rot. So be sure to promply seal a crack or ding with something like a dab of paint or silicone for a quick fix. Or if you're handy enough, get yourself some matching gelcoat & catalyst and give it a try.
