Duncan was Best of Breed at both the Melbourne and Sydney Royal Shows in 2000 and 2001. He was placed third in the Terrier Group at the 2001 Melbourne Royal.

These two shows have the largest entries of Skyes in Australia

The Skye Terrier originated centuries ago on the Isle of Skye, which lies off the northeast coast of Scotland. The Skye Terrier was used by farmers and fishermen to hunt otters, badgers and foxes. The Skyes long coat protected them from injury and cold weather. The drop ear variety was more common to begin with but the prick ear became more popular after Queen Victoria acquired a Skye in 1842.
A Skye is long, low and profusely coated. They stand about 10 inches at the shoulder and a Skye should be approximately twice his height in length. The coat is parted down the dog's back and an adult coat will reach the ground. The coat colour can be black, dark or light gray, fawn or cream all with black nose and ears.
A Skye is loyal and friendly with people he knows but reserved and cautious with strangers. The most famous Skye is "Greyfriars Bobby" who stayed by his masters grave for 14 years.
There are only a handful of SKYE TERRIER breeders in Australia. If you are interested in finding out more about Skye Terriers please E-mail me (see below).
If you already own a Skye I would love to hear from you.
