About Orbs And Other Phenomena

All of the pictures that I have displayed on this web page was taken with a Polaroid 640 digital camera. I used the highest resolution setting on the camera, which is 640 x 480 with medium compression, to take these pictures. I used the normal lens which is 3 ft to infinity. Now...since I got that out of the way...I will talk about the orb phenomena...along with a few other strange anomalies that I have photographed. ;) During this past winter I have taken many pictures that have picked up images of orbs, and other phenomena. I find myself intrigued by them, and I am very curious of what they could be...as I'm sure a lot of people are. Many people think that these orbs show up in photographs because there is either moisture or pollen in the air reflecting the flash when it goes off. Or they think that they show up on the pictures from moisture or dirt being on the lens. I have taken pictures when it was winter with no pollen in the air, and in the spring when there is, and I have come up with orbs on the pictures during both times of the year. I try to only take pictures when it is dry outside to avoid any kind of moisture, and I always make sure that my lens is clean. I would normally think that these theories could be a possibility, but I just find too many flaws in these theories. They just have too many inconsistencies in them to make sense...to me anyway. ;) One thing I do know for sure is that orbs are just a very mysterious, luminous phenomena that has shown up on photographs, and have even been witnessed personally by some individuals. I have seen pictures of these luminous balls of light which shows them moving through the air, and even casting a shadow on a nearby object or wall. There have been pictures taken of them to where they have been partially concealed behind tree trunks or other objects, or seemingly caught on the twig of a tree. There have even been some pictures taken of them to where it looks like there are faces in the middle of them...which I have taken one like that myself. Plus...there was a time that I have seen one first hand...without having to use a camera to see them on a photograph. That is why I don't even attempt at settling for any of these theories. Why? Because they are just that....theories and speculation. I have tossed these theories around like everyone else, and said..."Well, they could be this."..or.."They could be that." But when you get right down to it..."No One" really knows for sure. ;) People will probably always be curious about this phenomena, and they will continue to study it and speculate on it, and maybe, one day, someone will find out what it is. I hope so anyway. :)

These are the basics that I do know about orbs. Orbs are usually white in color, but they have also shown up in pictures in different colors. Some look transparent, and then there are some that look solid. They all vary in their sizes, and the shape of them can be different from each other also. The ones that I have seen have been round, oval, or a diamond like shape. In pictures they have shown up in groups or just randomly scattered, and sometimes there have been just one or two orbs show up in a picture. And sometimes they are moving when they are photographed. From what I have read about them I have found out that they have been mentioned in mythology throughout the ages, and some of the titles for them was " Fairy Lights" or " Will O The Wisp". People have also called them " Spook Lights" because of the theories that they are possibly associated with spirits or ghosts...or in other words...A spirit's energy. There has also been the theory that they are linked with the UFO phenomena, or that they are possibly even a life form of some kind. But, whatever they are, I think that they are very well worth studying. :)

My curiosity for the orb phenomena started, this past summer, when I had some pictures developed that I had taken during vacation. We went to Carlsbad Caverns, and even though it was fairly dark down in the caverns, I attempted to take some pictures anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of my pictures had turned out just fine. One of them, though, had these two orbs show up on it. I looked at these two orbs on this picture and remembered seeing something like it two summers ago out in my back yard. On that particular night I was sitting out on my back porch enjoying the warm summer night, and star gazing. I had my porch light off so that I could see the stars better, and also to keep the bugs away. I had the back door open and the kitchen light was on, so I wasn't totally in the dark. As I was sitting there star gazing something else caught my attention. You know how you can see something out of the corner of your eye. I looked out over my back fence then to see what it was, and I could see this round, luminous object just floating in the air above the fence line. It looked like it was either in the alley or in my neighbor's yard across the alley...I couldn't tell for sure. It was about the size of a basket ball, and almost perfectly round in shape. It was somewhat transparent, and just floated, motionless, in one spot. I had no idea what it was, and frankly, the thought that it could have been a ghost did cross my mind during that time. ;) I felt fear and fascination at the same time. I didn't know if it was going to stay where it was, or if it was going to come after me. I didn't want to hang around to find out, so I got up very slowly, and stood there for a brief moment, just to make sure that I wasn't imagining it, and then I went back into the house and locked the door. This past summer I met someone on the Internet who had a website about the orb phenomena, and this web site had many orb pictures that this person had photographed, and that is where I found out about orbs to begin with. I got really curious about this phenomena, after I had looked at this person's pictures, so I tried to take pictures of them on my own. I started out using a 35 millimeter camera, and I was wasting so much film, and money on it that I gave up for awhile. I did manage to take one picture, with this camera, that did have some orbs in it. So, since I couldn't afford to buy that much film, I finally got a digital camera last November. I'm glad that I did because it solved the problem with the cost of the film. :) I started taking pictures then all around my house, and even inside of my house. I found that the place that I was picking up the most orbs in my pictures was in my back yard. So, my back yard, is where I mostly take my pictures now. That is where it all started. I have been taking so many pictures of orbs, and other phenomena, that I decided to make this web page so that I could show them to everyone. I hope that you find all of this as interesting as I do. :)

In the first picture, which is below this paragraph, I noticed something really odd in the appearance of one of the orbs in the picture. I noticed that this particular orb looked like it had some kind of a facial image on it. I wanted to get a clearer view of it so I cropped and enlarged it so that I could see it better. Then I lightened and darkened it to make the image stand out better. This cropped image is the second picture below this paragraph. The facial image on this orb reminds me of the face of a monkey, and if you look at it really close it even has some characteristics to where it looks similar to the face on Mars...LOL. Of course that might just be my imagination going berserk here. ;) Check them out and see what you think.

Below this paragraph are some pictures that show another strange anomaly. They show this strange looking mist which I have just recently learned is called Ectoplasm. It looks like a translucent mist or fog, and some people consider it to be some form of spiritual energy. In the first picture the Ectoplasm looks like it could possibly have a face and an upper body to it. When I had taken this picture, and noticed it in the view finder on the back of the camera, I immediately took another picture to see what would come up on it. This second picture also showed some Ectoplasm, but it was shaped entirely different from the first picture. The second one, to me, looks like a bunch of snakes curled up through the tree limbs of the pecan tree. I also noticed that there is two areas on the picture that looks almost like snake heads. Look at them and see what you see in these pictures.

When I took the picture, below this paragraph, my only intentions was to see if I could photograph any orbs that night. After I had taken the picture and looked it over real close, I could see this other strange image on it. I also cropped the image from this picture, and enlarged it so that I could see it better...which is the second picture below. I didn't have to enhance this one very much at all. The image was fairly clear as it was, so all I did with this one was to darken it just a little. I find that this image is highly interesting. It looks like it could be some kind of spiritual phenomena...but there is no way of really knowing though. I wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything that could have caused this image to be there, so I checked that part of my back fence, and everything around that part of the fence. I didn't find anything at all, on or around that area of the fence, that could have caused this image. This image is very puzzling to me and other people that I have shown it to are very puzzled by it also. Some of these people wondered if perhaps it was an animal of some kind perched on the fence when I took the picture. I really wouldn't think so because of the strangeness of the whole image in general. I don't think, if it was an actual animal, that these other images would have appeared with it...like the face, for instance. Plus, when I took the picture, I was looking out in that general area, and I didn't notice anything out there at the time. When I look at it I can see a couple of different images on it. I can see, what looks like, a cat of some kind sitting on the fence, and it looks like this supposed cat is looking towards the camera. I can also see...which my husband pointed out...what looks like a baby on all fours crawling. And if you look at it real close you can also see the head of a pig in the same general area as the supposed image of either the head of a baby or the head of a cat. Also...in between the supposed front and back legs of this strange looking image you can see a face very clearly. So take a look at the image and see what all you can see in it. :)

Well...this is all I have to show you for now. :) I have had a really interesting time taking these pictures. As you can see, the images in these pictures are highly fascinating. So since I am coming up with so many strange images in my pictures I will probably continue taking pictures to see what else shows up on them. And if anything else of interest does show up, then I will be sure to add them on so that you all can see them. :) I hope that you have enjoyed viewing my pictures. My only regret of having taken them is that they are only digital so I don't have any permanent pictures to keep of these images...unfortunately. But at least I can show them to everyone. :) One other thing I would like to share with all of you before I end this last paragraph is that I have noticed one other thing here recently. Around a week ago I was outside taking pictures around dusk, and I noticed another strange phenomenon associated with taking pictures of orbs. I noticed that when I would take the pictures I could see these sparkles or twinkles in the air where the flash of the camera was directed. I was looking through the viewer when I first saw them. I thought that maybe it was just my imagination at first, but I found that it wasn't. I took another picture without looking through the viewer, and I just looked up in the air in the direction where the flash was aimed. I could still see the sparkles very clearly, and only for the split second that the flash was going off. I asked my husband and my children to look and see if they could see them, and they could see them just as clearly as I could. I noticed that when I saw the sparkles in the air, in a general area, then this would be where the orbs were located on the picture. This occurred for quite a few nights. Then one night I went out and I didn't notice any sparkles, and found that there wouldn't be any orbs on my pictures either. I don't know if this was just a coincidence or not, and still wondered if there was some kind of connection between the sparkling effect and the orbs. I waited a few nights and tried taking some more pictures, and this time it was already completely dark outside. I could see the sparkles again. And one other thing that really amazed me was that when I took a picture that evening, and while I was looking very closely at the area that I was aiming at, I could also see something else in the center of all the sparkles. I actually saw a complete orb reflect from the flash of the camera! It was very quick because I could see it only as the flash was going off. To make sure that I wasn't imagining this either I looked at the picture right after I had taken it, and all these dim lighted orbs where I had seen the sparkles, and right where I saw the brightly lit, white orb in the flash...was a brightly lit orb on the picture. :) So it was not my imagination. I had actually, but very briefly, seen an orb reflect from the flash. I thought that it was absolutely amazing! So before I end this web page I will show you the picture that I am talking about. Update....A New Picture :)

Well...I said that I would put up any new pictures that I had taken if they had any more strange phenomena on them...So here is one of them. :) I took this picture tonight in my back yard, and I really have no idea as to what this could be. I took three pictures, one right after the other, and this came up on all three of them. Each one is just a little different. Right after I took the first one I looked to make sure that nothing was in front of the camera that could have caused this image to be there and there wasn't anthing there that could have been blocking the view...So I took the other two pictures then and this, whatever it is, came up on all three. It wasn't a flare from the porch light because I was facing away from the porch light which was a little behind me and to my left. I have seen this type of phenomena on pictures before when I looked at pictures on ghost websites. Theories have been tossed around that it could either be a vortex of some kind, or it could be an orb that is moving very fast. If it was an orb moving by me then it had to have been moving in circles to have shown up on all three pictures...I would think anyway. But I just thought that you all would find this interesting so I put the third picture up on the web page for you to see. Check it out and see what you think. :)
