About the MOMS Club of Gulf Breeze - West Chapter

MOMS Club
Moms Offering Moms Support

If you are new to Gulf Breeze and/or new to MOMS Club, WELCOME!!!

We are part of an international non-profit organization for stay-at-home moms.

We welcome children at all our daytime activities. With the exception of our monthly MOMS night out, all of our events are planned during the day when the stay-at-home mom needs the most support.

We offer playgroups, tours of interesting places, trips to the beach, park and playgrounds, and much more.

We also work together on service projects that benefit our community. We have donated to the Pensacola Ronald McDonald House, Gulf Coast Kids House, Caring and Sharing, Catholic Charities, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research, Hurricane Ivan and Katrina victims and the Waterfront Rescue Mission just to name a few.

We sincerely hope you will plan to join us and get in on the fun!

Our programs are all run for and by the members. We meet the 1st Tuesday of every month for our Business Meeting and have at least one event per week scheduled every month.  We would love for you to join us!

Dues for the club are $20.00 per year. They help to pay for the supplies we need, printing and mailing the newsletter and our activities.

You are invited to attend two meetings before deciding to join. We ask that only members attend our activities in a member's home.

The MOMS Club History

The first MOMS Club was started in Simi Valley, CA in 1983. An at-home mother in California, decided she was tired of being alone at home. She wanted to meet other at-home mothers and she wanted to find other at-home children for her children to play with. When she discovered there were no other organizations that met during the day and allowed her to come with her baby and preschooler, she decided to start a brand new organization just for at-home mothers, and the MOMS Club was born.

The chapter she started was so successful, she knew mothers in other areas must be needing the MOMS ClubŪ, too. Soon she and other volunteers were helping mothers start MOMS ClubsŪ across the country and around the world!

There are over 1,400 chapters in the US and abroad.

MOMS Club Goals
Goals

To provide a support group for mothers who choose to stay at home to raise their children

To provide a forum for topics of interest to mothers

To undertake and complete at least one charitable, humanitarian, or social welfare project related to children each year.

Principles

That women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment

That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job

That a family's decision for a mother to stay at home to raise the children often involves considerable financial sacrifice

That there is no one right way to raise children, but our members have a common concern in raising their children in a healthful way
