Mountain Creek Lodge was originally chartered as a Masonic Lodge in Grand Prairie Texas by the Grand Lodge of Texas on December 13, 1879. Its life was short lived during difficult times and the Lodge demised in 1891. Cherishing that heritage, a group of Masons in the Grand Prairie metroplex area requested permission from the Grand Lodge to restore Mountain Creek Lodge to active status as a "Daylight" Lodge. Permission was granted and the Most Worshipful Grand Master M. Boyd Patterson officially restored the Charter and presided at an "Open" Installation of the Officers on August 25, 2003, at the Thomas B. Hunter Lodge building--933 S.W. 2nd St.
