A sad story about love through time.

(Comments From Internet Story Board Judges)

"A beautiful, touching story. I cried also. ~~ Sunsets"
"Excellent story telling here.  How sad. . . Diane"

The following three short stories are excerpts from my light-hearted novel entitled "You Can't Get Blisters Treading the Water of Life".

Getting Even Was So Much Fun  An AOL Storyboard Award Winner

Excerpt  ~~  “Moving quietly so as not to be detected downstairs, I silently slid the bunk bed across the sticky linoleum six to eight inches away from the wall.  I moved it enough to be effective, but not enough to be noticed in the darkness of the room. I covered the floor with extra blankets, after all, I wanted to get even, not kill my brother.”

Patty's Deadly Crush  An AOL Storyboard Award Winner

Excerpt  ~~  “Excitedly, Patty dashed into her bedroom and grabbed a doll's blanket and a few doll clothes.  She dressed the mouse in a flannel nightgown and put a baby's bonnet on its head.  She then wrapped it in the blanket, picked it up, held and rocked it as if it were a baby.”

Cesspool Swimming  An AOL Storyboard Honorable Mention

Excerpt  ~~  “The wind was fierce. I knew I had to hurry before I was stuck in a Lake Superior storm” . . . “The storm had gotten stronger, but I didn't care about weather.  I only hoped no neighbors, especially girls, watched out their window as I stripped to my birthday suit.”
