A Tale of Three Cities: From a Cop's Point of View Page 2
Methamphetamine and its manufacture in clandestine labs has become an increasing problem in the Tennessee Valley.  This highly addictive drug has become as much of a plague on society as crack has been since the early 1980's.  If you know the location of one of these highly volatile labs, I urge you to contact your local police department.
In July of 2002, myself and other Chattanooga Police 'Fox Team' Officers located a working meth lab inside a home in the 1600 block of East 47th Street, while responding to a tip from a neighbor.  Three of the four people involved in the manufacture of the illegal drug ultimately pled guilty after a Criminal Court Judge upheld the search after a lengthy suppression hearing.

Officer Penny holding a box of pipes used for smoking methamphetamine.
Glassware used by 'cooks' or 'chefs' who make the illegal drug.
Some of the ingredients used in the manufacture of meth.
Coming soon:  A photo of the actual lab that was recovered.
Cash and Marijuana recovered from a vehicle that approached a police checkpoint on Suck Creek Road.  The presence of the marijuana was discovered when the driver rolled down his window (while smoking a joint) and a plume of smoke rolled into the night sky...not the smartest thing that he
ever did.
