1:33AM CST: Finally, some eye candy for all of you!

I've finished 10 of the Light uniforms for my Alternate Skins Modlet, which has a Russian MVD flavor in this version. I've posted all the shots I have in the Screenshots section.

I still have 5 more Light uniforms to do, then it's on to the 15 Medium and 15 Heavy uniforms, for a total of 45 brand new character models. I'm also going to do at least a few Arctic models, so I may well have almost 64 original skins.

I'm using the "team_hrt" models because I wanted to convey a "police" feel to the MVD characters, while using the camouflage patterns to emphasize the fact the MVD is decidedly more military than most other police forces in the world.

The Arctic uniforms are going to be very original, in the sense that I'm going to be using the Arctic models as a base for the Sneg-M and Sneg-K winter suits. I'll have a couple primarily snow-white uniforms, but I also want to do a few in Russian Arctic Woodland and Russian Snow camouflage.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make the Desert Camouflage and Brown VSR camouflage uniforms look good. You're not gonna wear a SWAT uniform on a desert raid, are you? And the "team_camo" Light models look a little too American to pass for Russians, so...

I might just make it look like they're wearing dust goggles and scarves, I guess. I could tint the goggles too, make the whole outfit look like something optimized for the desert.

But, really, this modlet has more of a urban close-quarters battle focus, so I'm not overly worried about the  more exotic patterns.

The modlet will include the 60-plus new character models, a veritable armory of modern Russian weapons, AND a boatload of brand new tangos to make things fun.

I might hold back on the release and use it for my MVD total conversion first. It'll be very interesting, and puts the player in command of a special-ops unit attached to the MVD's sinister Department U. It won't be a cakewalk either :)

It's titled "Fallen Angel", and has a pretty scary storyline.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

1:28AM CST: New weapon model

I've just finished the latest weapon model, which is a Russian RG-6 40mm grenade launcher. It'll be a primary weapon with six grenades, and is assigned to a two-man fire support team. Basically you just assign a guy with the RG-6 and a partner with a rifle or SMG, and have the rifleman cover the grenadier while he Snipes or Covers an area you choose. It's a very fragadelic weapon, and you ought to see that baby hamburgerizing those Tangos on the Djakovica map, hehehe

I personally use it as a direct fire weapon firing HE rounds with no penetrating ability, but I've also made a conventional grenade launcher file for people who insist on using the half-assed grenade launcher support in the game.

There's a shot of it up in the Screenshots section.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

2:47AM CST: Finally, another update

Sorry it's been so long...I've been involved with a somewhat hush-hush project involving what may well be the biggest and best RS mod to date. So far, I've donated the contents of my Version 2.0b High Resolution Replacement Skins Modlet plus my very first Do-It-Yourself Weapon Modlet. This is basically a module consisting of several folders, containing a readme file in each listing where the various files go. Everything from kit screens to ammo images and weapon models are organized into a logical and simple layout, and all the user has to do is work on one folder at a time, moving the contents to the right directories and then finally appending the Addon Text to primary.itm and secondary.itm.

The whole point of this admittedly cumbersome process is to make it very easy for modders out there to add our stuff directly into their mods. It's not recommended as a mod, but rather as a way to simplify mod creation.

Anyways, I'm pulling down most of my screenshots and replacing them with the Version 3 previews, plus the previews for the Alternate Tango Skins Version 1.0 modlet. I've come a long way since I first started this, and I really hope you'll be pleased.

Alternate Tango Skins won't be offering only playable skins, they also replace the dorkiest-looking terrorist textures with more realistic skins. Additionally, I intend to double or triple the number of existing terrorists so modders have a much wider variety to choose from when creating missions.

The latest skin is up, and if you look really close, you'll see my new OTs-14-4a-03 Groza model :)

Anyways, that's the news for now.

9:32PM CST: Weapon updates

It seems that the Groza models I did were way overboard on the polygons. SpyHawk converted them for me, and even after trimming off as much fat as it could handle, the QOB plugin for 3DSMAX ended up removing some rather important polygons. Result: A gun you can see through, hehehehe

Despite the fact that I did my best to keep the polygon count low, the models still exported with a squillion polygons. I narrowed it down to Ray Dream Studio's bockety Free Form modeler, which really isn't too bright when it comes to figuring out how to triangulate strangely-shaped polygons. So, I totally redid the Groza models from scratch using only prefab cubes and other 3D mesh shapes tweaked in the Mesh Form Modeler. It was a really big headache, I tell you...it's so much easier to make high-poly models than it is to agonize for hours over which 3D mesh could represent a particular component without looking dorky.

I managed to end up with rather nice models, IMHO. All 4 variants of the Groza have been done, and will hopefully be ported over to 3DSMAX sometime soon. Take a peek at them in the Screenshots section.

I'm still working on the skins for Version 3.0, don't worry :)

Anyways, that's the news for now.

1:40AM CST: New weapon model preview

Second weapon model is the Alliant Technosystems Objective Individual Combat Weapon, a monstrous rifle with a 20mm HE cannon and 5.56mm assault rifle in an over/under mount. I know, I know...but it's so cool I had to do it.

It's over in the Screenshots section.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

12:40PM CST: Weapon models underway

As part of my desire to help fellow modders, I've started on a side project involving filling the massive demand for new weapon models. Being biased as I am, I chose the Groza OTs-14-4a-03 as my first model. I had a bitch of a time finding decent images to work from, and ended up having to use this really crummy-looking tiny picture from some site linked to the Russian Military Parade site.

It turned out fairly well. I'm not exactly quivering in the midst of a joygasm, but it's close enough. I had to do a LOT of postprocessing on that image, and actually had to just grayscale it and colorize certain portions of it before it made a halfway decent texture map. The final model using my super-tweaked texture map is shown in the Screenshots section.

Don't flood me with requests, though...I did the model in an entirely different 3D modeling package and depend on the goodwill of those fortunate few with 3DSMAX to find the time to convert my  3DS models to QOBs. I really can't guarantee that SpyHawk or Sputnik Satellite would be able to consistently help me out in this regard, so I'll be releasing weapon models pretty much on an irregular basis.

Anyone else with 3DSMAX desiring to help me in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

5:26PM CST: Happy coincidences and a sneak peek

Well, here's some happy news. A very kind and considerate soul created a RSB-to-BMP converter and released it to the cold, huddled rabble of the Rogue Spear Community. Because of this wonderful person, I can immediately resume work on my modlets.

Version 3.0 of the High Resolution Replacement Skins Modlet is well underway. Here's a brief preview of things to come:

-Night Green Light: Based on the Light Arctic model, this skin was in the Rainbow Six novel and used in the raid on Schloss Ostermann. Basically a set of overgarments in an infrared-disruptive grid pattern similar to Night Desert Camouflage.

-Night Green Medium: Based on the Medium Arctic model, this skin is actually closer to what was used in the novel. The helmet's texture is replaced by the black HRT helmet texture to emphasize the Night Greens being an overgarment.

-Night Green Heavy: Included for the sake of completeness, this is a rather terrifying-looking skin in my opinion. Night green overgarments below a heavy black Kevlar carapace, this is just the thing for the stylish breacher.

-High Resolution Arctic skins. I'm looking into some of the more interesting arctic camouflage schemes out there. I like the way they are now, don't get me wrong...but they're a little visually blah. I'd like to add a couple more choices of arctic camouflage. Some schemes I have in mind are Predator Evolution Snow, Russian Arctic Woodland, and maybe a couple others.

The Night Greens will be a mod folder install, as will the other Arctic variants. The actual hi-res Arctic replacement skins will stay very close to the original and simply offer better detail and clarity.

I also have a very strong feeling that I can easily exceed the 63-64 skin limit in the game. Unfortunately, it entails writing new mission files and keeping the skin choices in each mission equal to or less than 64. For instance, I could have 310 skins...I could opt to use 64 in one mission, a different 64 in the next, and so on. However, for multiplayer, I'm not really sure how to get around the limit.

I have to test it out before I'm sure, and it'll be a long time before I have a total of 64 skins, heh heh

In other news....the latest Alternate Tango skin is up. It's based off the Samed Elite terrorist, and reflects what I truly believe a so-called "elite" terrorist funded by someone with pockets as deep as Samed Vezirade's would look like. The first time I saw his elites in the Prague mission, I was unpleasantly surprised by how totally out-of-character they looked. Bright, cheerful grey coveralls, pale green vests, and dorky boots? Come on, guys, you KNOW a Hollywood costume designer could do better than THAT on an acid trip.

Thus, I've had a good, long think about the available equipment and stuff. I settled on a mercenary feel, dressing the Alternate Tango variant of the Samed Elite terrorist in a blue-brown urban camo pattern, adding a web belt and thigh-mounted grenade/magazine pouches to cover up the ugly bulges on his legs. I'm thinking about adding a ski mask...because what idiot would take the Czech president hostage without covering his features? I mean, if he escapes a botched attempt, his mug will be all over 2,563 satellite channels and smeared all across the police databases of the world like a skidmark in a baby's diaper. Think about it...you'd be cursing yourself the next time you want a hot dog from the local 7-11 and have run out of fake-mustache glue.

Besides, the original Samed Elite terrorist just didn't look competent or villainish enough to satisfy me.

Check him out in the Screenshots section.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

12:46PM CST: All projects on hold temporarily

*sigh*

Well, my evaluation copy of Paint Shop Pro expires tomorrow. I won't be able to create future versions of my modlets for a while, since I have to save up for the full version. I'm not a warez supporter, so I'm not going to even consider getting a warez copy. Besides, this is one of those programs that I really am very impressed with and consider worth every penny of its $99 price tag.

I'm keeping all of my Paint Shop Pro template files and archiving them until I buy the full version. In the meantime, I hope you guys really enjoy the Version 2.0b modlet.

Also, I'm looking for a 3D Studio Max user who would be willing to work with me. Modeling talent isn't necessary, since what I actually want to do is create the models myself in Ray Dream Studio (Don't laugh, I make this baby scream, and she's paid for!) and export to the Wavefront OBJ file format. What I'd need the 3D Studio Max user to do is import my OBJ models into 3D Studio Max and export them as Red Storm QOB model files. I can do the models, the texture mapping, and suchlike...all I need is someone to convert them to QOB files. I'd ask SpyHawk or Sputnik, but they've already got a huge workload.

All I can offer in exchange for these services is my gratitude and due credit. What I'd expect from the 3D Studio Max user is a relatively fast turnaround time (No more than 2 or 3 days per load) and enough modeling experience to properly align and scale the  QOB models before sending them to me.

I'd like to eventually create a Models section for all the modders out there like Lloyd Bailey, who have a lot of weapons  in their mods but too few models for them. Some of the stuff I want to do are vehicles, weapons, and assorted scenery items to liven up the missions some.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

-Mel Ebbles

4:23PM CST: New patch and modlet posted

Found one small but annoying visual glitch kindly reported by SpyHawk. Seems the training terrorists shared most of their skins with the other HRT models, and my modlet turned the training terrorists into FrankenTangos.

I fixed that by modifying the training terrorist's CRP file to use a different blue armpatch, redid its skins to match all around, and now I think I can safely say Version 2 is complete.

Both the full modlet and the patch have been updated. Get them from the Downloads section, natch.

I have a kind beta-testing crew offer from the Silent Lightning Clan, and I'm going to take them up on it to avoid this kind of inconvenience for my customers in the future.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

-Mel Ebbles

3:39AM CST: Oops, my first goof!

Ugh....I just found out that I bundled the WRONG directory into the Version 2 modlet. All of the legs in the skins have the goofy-looking test pockets, AND for some reason, the new Green leg texture didn't make it into the .ZIP file.

Argh argh argh argh....I'm working on it right now and will post the very first (and hopefully LAST) patch ever for the High Resolution Replacement Skin Modlet Version 2.0.

That'll teach me to do all my work when I'm about to nod off...

Get the patch and/or the whole thing at the Downloads section....and my most profound apologies.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

9:39PM CST: Download Problems

Seems some of my non-AOL customers are having problems accessing the downloads. In order to prevent acute symptoms of withdrawal, I have decided to authorize the first ever mirror site for the High Resolution Replacement Skin Modlet, which will be the Silent Lightning Clan homesite. If you can't download the files from AOL, then Silent Lightning should be able to hook you up with it.

I just sent them the file...don't expect it to be on their site proper until tomorrow night at the earliest.

A list of authorized mirror sites will be in the Downloads section. Remember that sites not listed there will most likely not have the latest version of this modlet.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

11:09PM CST: High Resolution Replacement Skins Version 2.0 Released

Need I say more? Good stuff's over in the Downloads section, natch.

Also, new inventory bitmaps for the Street1 and Street2 camo schemes and new loading images for multiplayer are included. That way, whatchoo see is whatchoo get, ya know?

-Mel Ebbles

11:09PM CST: High Resolution Replacement Skins Version 2.0 News

It's finished. Check out the screenshots for Version 2. Here's a list of changes:

1. Green HRT uniforms lightened somewhat in response to feedback from multiplayer crews. Seems the Version 1 Green HRT skin was just dark enough to easily confuse with black at range, leading to confusion and friendly fire incidents. I changed it from Night Green to a nice olive drab scheme...here's hoping it's better received :)

Besides, I didn't really think it looked like the real thing.

2. Street1 is now a grey urban camouflage uniform. From my observations of SWAT fashion, the grey and blue urban camouflage patterns seem to be the ones favored when silhouette breaking is needed. I have yet to see any SWAT imagery showing a bunch of burly men flouncing around in these girly purple and orange paintball camo outfits that seem to be designed with an invasion of Planet X in mind.

3. Street2 is now a blue urban camouflage uniform. Exactly how the grey and blue patterns actually camouflage anyone in urban environments is a matter of extreme curiosity for me. If it was me, I'd have designed an uniform that looked like a brick wall with graffiti on it or something equally silly. Now THAT'd blend in just fine in good old Los Angeles...

Both camouflage schemes have been fixed and tweaked to look better. I took the screenshots before I did the final tweaks, so you won't see the new pocket shading on the legs in the screenshots.

4. Since I've radically changed the original camo schemes, I've updated the inventory bitmaps with the appropriate colors.

5. The other HRT skins are essentially unchanged with the exception of having the pockets on the legs retextured to look more like the real thing.

I'll release it as soon as I get the paths right in WinZip and update the readme. Should be sometime tonight or tomorrow, I believe.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

2:04AM CST: High Resolution Replacement Skins Version 2.0 Screenshots

Version 2.0 has been underway for some time, and I thought you'd like a preview of it. I've posted two screenshots of the new Street 1 urban camouflage scheme. Seems RSE chose some garish paintball outfits for Street1 and Street2...which no self-respecting SWAT officer, much less an elite commando, would be caught dead in. The original Street1 scheme was Ultraviolet Woodland, and Street2 was originally Red Urban, except the RSE artists recolored the red areas tan. (That's why there are a few errant red blobs scattered around the tan, I guess)

Basically, leaving those two skins unchanged in my modlet would be a slap in the face to reality, so I decided to hunt down some decent urban camouflage outfits on the Web, and create new skins from those.

Street1: Changed to grey Urban Woodland. Still tweaking the skin, the black squiggles aren't in visually appealing places, so I gotta add more and move 'em around some.

Street2: Changed to blue Urban Woodland. Still tweaking as above, but otherwise looks really nice.

Other skins: Black, Blue, and Grey are the same. Green will be replaced with an olive drab fatigue set, since it seems my dark green replacement skin really looks nothing like the green fatigues I've seen so far.

Check out the new Street1 screenshots and tell me what you think.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

5:59PM CST: New Screenshots

I've redone the MVD Standard skin in Russian Urban Blue-Brown camouflage and added the MVD Sniper in Russian Urban Grey Camouflage. Both are high-resolution skins.

Check 'em out in the Screenshots section.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

3:20AM CST: High Resolution Spetsnaz Skin Completed

Vladimir over at Lloyd's Mods linked me to this MASSIVE military surplus site specializing in Russian equipment and gear. I was able to get REAL camo patterns as opposed to the girly almost-Russian stuff RSE threw into the game. After two hours of gleefully grabbing Russian sleeve patches, camo swatches, and uniform pictures off that site, I cracked my knuckles and set to work.

5 and a half hours later, I had a Spetsnaz skin that actually looked good next to RSE's fabulous "team_camo" skins. Now I'm going to be re-doing the MVD skins using the camo swatches I sampled from the photos on TridentMilitary.com in the same vein as the new high-resolution Spetsnaz skin.

I like this new skin better than the old one, and I'll be doing several variations of the Russian models using the following camouflage patterns:

Russian VSR-1 (The original camo you see on the Russian trooper model)

Russian VSR-4 (Slightly different variation of the above)

Russian Woodland (The new Spetsnaz model is wearing this pattern)

Russian Blue Urban (This isn't the same pattern worn by the Serb Irregular, it's a totally different pattern)

Russian Blue-Brown Urban (Another interesting urban camo scheme)

Russian Desert Camouflage (Interesting swirly pattern)

Russian MVD Urban Grey (Very nice pattern, lots of detail)

Russian KGB/MVD "Computer" Camouflage (Yellow-on-green blocky pattern used quite a bit in Afghanistan)

I'll also be looking into doing Naval Infantry skins for the beret-wearing trooper model. My options with the vanilla Russian trooper are a little limited since the model wears a heavy winter kit. Say it with me...."CRP Plug-In, Pretty Please!"

Also, all of the skins will have genuine patches and insignia. I'm going to be looking into the CRP file to see if there's a way I can have different textures for each arm...I think I can, because the CRP references arm and leg textures twice. If I do go that route, this will definitely become a high-powered mod and require oodles and oodles of texture memory.

Well, off to bed I go, hehehehe...check out the screenshot and tell me what you think.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

-Mel Ebbles

11:39PM CST: Spetsnaz Skin Screenshots and Upcoming Developments

I just finished the Spetsnaz skin based off the Yugoslavian beret-wearing soldier. Looks really good even though the web gear is a little inaccurate. Then again, artistic license, ya know? Screenshot's over in the Screenshot section, natch.

I did an urban MVD skin, it's the same model as the MVD trooper in the screenshot, but uses the blue Russian urban camouflage pattern instead of the green. Next model is going to be a MVD trooper in light kit, using the Serbian Irregular model. It'll be wearing the same balaclava as the standard MVD kit, and come in both the green and blue camouflage patterns.

I'm going to be releasing the next modlet in two flavors...Alternate Tangos for you modders dying for different terrorists, and Alternate Characters for those of you who want to play with the new models.

I'm doing another modlet dealing with weapon textures. Basically it'll be fixing various weapon textures in both the original game and Sputnik Satellite's terrific weapon mod. Many of his textures are a little bright and cheery, and this modlet fixes that. Here's a brief list of new textures:

P90/P90-SD: Sputnik's original texture is actually that of a P90 with handle-mounted optics. His model doesn't have that, so the new texture is that of a stock P90 without optics. Also, it doesn't look like a bright green and yellow Super Soaker anymore. The new finish is an intimidating black with sharp highlights and a much more subdued golden-tan for the translucent magazine.

AW50: The original texture was much too glaringly bright, and is highly visible at long distances. The new texture is much darker and more subdued.

HK MP-XX: I've darkened all the MP-XX weapon textures from both RSE and Sputnik's mod, and they look even scarier now than they did before.

IMI Tavor/Steyr ACR: Again, much too bright and cheery. Darkened and softened them so they more closely match their real life counterparts in the action phase. BTW, Sputnik's IMI Tavor model is mind-blowing. Eat that, ARMM!

Other Weapons: Mostly brightness fixes and slight alterations.

Look for screenshots of the Weapon Realism Enhancement modlet soon.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

-Mel Ebbles

02-19-2000

2:53AM CST: MVD Skin Screenshots

I finally did the high-resolution MVD Standard skin. There's a screenshot of it up over at the Screenshots section. All I have to do now is modify the CRP and texture files so it can be installed in the mod folder. I worked around the huge nose problem by cheating a little on the balaclava...I changed it from the "ninja" style to the ski-mask style with two eye holes. Looks good to me...what do you guys think? Lemme know, and there's no excuse because my name's an email link and splattered all over this page like gibs in a Quake tourney.

I'm also debating whether or not I should take some artistic license and add knee pads/elbow pads to the skin to make it more visually appealing, and to differentiate it further from the standard Russian grunt skin. I might make both padded and unpadded variants just for the sake of choice.

It won't be released for probably another week, since I want to get as many Russian skins done as I can for the first release of the High Resolution Alternate Skin Modlet.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

-Mel Ebbles

02-18-2000

12:57AM CST: Progress Update on MVD Skins

Good news. The textures look pretty nice, but still need a little tweaking on account of the Russian trooper model having a very large nose. Seems it really stretches out the balaclava and creates some icky pixelation, so I'm working on that. Vladimir from Lloyd's Mods threw me a couple of biscuits and essentially solved my crashing problem (Thanks, Vlad!), so the MVD skins will soon be a reality. In addition to the MVD skins, I'm thinking of doing Spetsnaz skins based on the beret-wearing Yugoslavian trooper model. I'm thinking of doing the model in dark green fatigues with light green splotches over a white/blue striped shirt, topped off with the Serb Irregular's web gear and a Spetsnaz-blue beret. It'll be very interesting to say the least. Now all you Russian fanatics will have decent threads to go with Sputnik Satellite's beautiful AK models :)

Speaking of the Serb Irregular model, I found a picture on some news site of Russian veterans in Chechnya wearing the exact same blue-mottled outfit. That was a pleasant surprise, so I'll have to research the utility/purpose of those uniforms and see if they're worth adding to my list of to-dos.

Whatcha mean, I'm obsessed with Russians? Nah. I've got other stuff in the pipeline too, and here's a brief list:

American Night Desert Camo outfits (SpyHawk beat me to the punch, but his outfits are a little overfiltered in the action phase, so the models look like they're wearing green pinstripe trousers and  green plaid shirts)

Redone Light  "team_camo" textures based off the Yugoslavian beret model (I hate boonie hats, they're just so Billy Bob)

Some specialist outfits for people who fell in love with Solid Snake of "Metal Gear" fame and Snake-Eyes from the early 1980s series of G.I. Joe figures. Of course I won't be referring to those uniforms by name or trying to be exact, but they should give those fans a warm fuzzy without looking ridiculous in the context of the game.

Italian GIS black uniforms with three-hole balaclavas. They just look so scary, I gotta do them.

The last few are gonna be based off the models for Samed's elite terrorists and should look pretty good in the end.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

02-17-2000

12:42AM CST: New Work In Progress

I saw the movie "The Jackal" a month or so ago, and promptly forgot all about it until I played the Russia-set missions in Rogue Spear. I thought to myself, "Man, those MVD guys in body armor and balaclavas  (The hoodlike things, not the Greek pastry. Wearing a baklava and eating a balaclava are both very unpleasant experiences.) look cool...wouldn't it just be a kick if you could play as them?"

The MVD is Russia's Interior Ministry, and they have quite a few militia units attached to them that do pretty much a little of everything ranging from smacking down uppity Chechens to performing as heavily armed SWAT teams. They also get to play with the seriously ugly but oh-so-cool Groza OTS-14 series of weapons. So I thought back to the Rainbow Six novel and realized that the Red Storm games were just a little off in the sense that ALL their gear and equipment is recognizably American.

Seriously, everything from the "Fritz" helmets to the Hi-Tec boots and the Nomex gloves scream "Amerikanski! Amerikaner! Yanqui! Bloody Yank!"...you get the idea. Rainbow's SOP is to dress like the locals and use local equipment so the poor schmucks they administer smackies to don't wise up to the fact that the guys in black really aren't the local donut-engorged constabulary. I figure the games would have been SO much better if you actually had to wear locally available gear in the appropriate missions, ya know?

Anyways, I want to do the MVD uniforms, based off of the Russian trooper model. The outfit is exactly the same as what the MVD wears, except the body armor is darker and there's a balaclava (the cloth kind, not the sugary kind) under the helmet. (Though a baklava under the helmet may be a very nice thing when your K-Rationski supply runs out....)

I've done the textures already, the thing raping my goat is I just CAN'T get the Russian trooper model to be playable without crashing the game. Once I figure out the secret (probably 2 minutes after someone figures out how to seal the Grand Canyon with a tube of Preparation H), I'll let you guys know.

I'm also a bit of a programmer, and I'm working on an universal skin/weapon installer capable of adding/removing skins, weapons, and equipment....so you could quite conceivably use all your favorite elements from all the mods on your system at the same time. It's not that hard, I just have to make it parse the appropriate files and so on.

Anyways, that's the news for now.

2:25AM CST: Final Tweaks And a RS Not-So-Funny

I finished tweaking this site, so everything should be online and operational. The other day at work, this incredibly stupid image popped into my head, so I'll just defile your sense of common decency with it :)

The Hardcore Rogue Spear Player's Dear John Letter

Dear (Name here),

I can't take it anymore. God knows, I've tried. I tried to be the best wife I could, but it seems that's just not enough for you anymore. I know you're seeing other people. You talk about them in your sleep, and it hurts me every time it happens. You never dance with me, but you're constantly doing the tango or something with some bimbo named Ayana in your dreams. And you keep calling out to some slut named Kazi or whatever. And I feel you're too embarrassed to be seen with me, because you've never introduced me to your new friends. Don't lie, I know about them. There's John, Ding, Santiago, and a whole bunch of others you keep talking about at three in the morning when I'm trying to sleep. I've had it, and I'm leaving you. I've moved in with your former best friend, and I took the dog with me. Expect a call from my lawyer within the next few days, you inconsiderate son of a bitch.

Sincerely yours,

Your soon-to-be ex-wife

Like I said, almost funny, heh heh

Anyways, I'm looking for some links for my links page. Got a Rogue Spear site you want to advertise? Send me a link, and I'll slap it onto my links page.

10:56PM CST: High-Resolution HRT Skins Modlet v1.0 Released

Yeah, I call it a modlet because it's not big enough to qualify as a real mod. In my book, a mod is something that really changes the game dynamics. A bunch of replacement skins is just eye candy, really, so it's not exactly a full-blown mod.

Anyways, the High-Resolution Replacement Skins Modlet should run with practically any mod out there as long as the other mods don't overwrite the actual HRT skins.
