The artwork I create is the product of a selfish desire to procure attention and maintain an artistic ability above those that I can. I do not draw for piety or sculpt for metaphysical motivations. I am driven by the vain pleasures of aesthetics.
I believe that the majority of my knowledge of art is implicit, not of conscious thought, and involves the recognition of successful patterns. The assimilation of creativity within precise and accurate mark making is fundamental to my works, but I also try to incorporate a juxtaposition of elements. Because without suffereing, the concept of joy is diminished; without abstract, what is realism?
The progression of my abilities hasn't changed dramatically, but I've become more imaginative and slightly less technical. The process is more lenient to errors, more meticulous, and less tedious. It's the process of exploring other areas of expression that I hope will develop purpose in my work.
