There has been alot of negative things said about the Proposed Mall and new I-75 interchange at Kyle's Station Rd, but lets look at why the Mall is a solid investment and will benefit the entire area.
1. The proposed mall will be paying 100% of all taxes required. In order to get an Industrial type business in the area numerous tax abatements must be given, and when the abatements run out, so do they!
2. The Mall will bring thousands of jobs into the area and not just retail jobs either. More good paying City, State, and County jobs. Teachers, Police Officers, Road Crews, Clerical, Accounting, etc......
3. A place for King's Island visitors to go, shop, and have a great time. This brings more tax money in the area with the Sale's Tax.
4. The Mall is better on the environment than Industry. Let's face it, the EPA is not that strong.
5. Now do you think an investment of $28,000,000 to build a new interchange at Kyle's Station Rd. is not a good idea? That is a small amount to invest for such a Great Return on your Tax Dollars! Especially, since the SR. 63 exit will be nonfunctional in 5 years and a new exited is needed anyway!
6. The Proposed Mall is being built on land that is now zoned commercial! (The land was previously zoned industrial for over 40 years!) The land is located directly on I-75 and is minutes away from King's Island Amusement Park. The land is a perfect location for the Mall.
7. The Proposed Mall is being developed by the Taubman Group. A national leader in family oriented and sucessfully managed Malls.
