Bicycle mobile VHF 04-23-05

Here are a few quick photos of my current bike mobile setup. I'm on 2 meters as I ride my bike to work. The antenna is a homebrew colinear J-Pole with two 1/2-waves fed with a 1/4-wave 450-ohm ladderline match. I've used it the past two days and have received good reports on FM simplex from the other side of Denver as I pedal through Golden, Colorado.
The radio is a "Standard" brand HT running 5 watts.

The antenna was made from the plans by Steve, KB1DIG . His last diagram on "Page 5" shows the colinear version I built.

I covered the exposed ladderline wire in green Liquid Electrical Tape. With the pre-made, 6-foot coax, I had just enough room to wind three turns for a coax choke (not shown).
