Welcome the N8OC Homepage

Last Modified March 18, 2008

It's been almost 18 months since I last updated this webpage (WOW - how time flies) and much is new.   I've had the chance to meet other Radio Ops in Poland and Taiwan on my business travels and life is GREAT!!!   Thanks to Piotr SP9TTG and Stan SP6GWB in SP land.   And Bruce BV2KI, Eddie BV2DD, and Dr. Wu BU2AQ for the hospitality in Taiwan.   Hope to see you all again soon.

I've finally realized that I go thru the year with (3) seasons - Hunting / Snowmobiling / Radio-Yardwork.   So if it seems I disappear from the radio for a while - it must be one of the other seasons.    But Rod WI8A is trying to make an HF DX Chaser out of me - so who knows - maybe I'll be on the air more this year.

I've gotten thru HUNTING and SNOWMOBILING SEASON here in Michigan.   No luck on the Whitetail this year, but the Duck and Goose Hunting was fun.  My brother, a friend and I have bought 140 acres of land in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan as a Base Camp for our Hunting and Snowmobile activities, and hope to get more 'Radio Active' up there, especially on VHF for the grid chasers.

Here's  a couple shots sledding on my Snowmobile Page

Radio News: I'm on my second homebrew 6M 7element yagi (the first came crashing down with the tower) and have completed a few 6M EME contacts.  This is based a DK7ZB design and photo and all specifications can be seen on his site at:  HERE

I did get a 4 X 17 element 2M array up very briefly - but we had a little accident on the raising and it came down rather quickly.   So back to the drawing board.
