New Moon Fishing Club

Guidelines and Contests

Guidelines

  • The premise of the club is to get a small group of friends out fishing on a regular basis. In order to facilitate this we have adopted a few simple guidelines.
    • People planning on attending a fishing date should email newmoonfc@aol.com by the Thursday before upcoming trips. This way groups members will know who to look for at the meeting points.
    • The day trips are designed for fishing.
    • The holiday weekend trips are designed to include the whole family. Typically one or two days of a holiday weekend will be fishing oriented. Non-holiday weekend trips will be geared toward fishing the entire time.
    • Family is always welcome on any trip, but remember the emphasis is on fishing. This may require separate transportation from time to time.
    • We will car pool as much as possible and everyone is expected pitch in for gas.
    • The Club is going to limit membership to 10 anglers this inaugural season. We only do this to refrain from overcrowding ourselves.
    • The Club would like to limit the number of people on any one trip to ten anglers. Club members are welcome to bring guests (we don’t own any rivers as far as I know), but again we do not want to overcrowd ourselves.
    • The Club Practices Conservation Fishing. Proper "Catch and Release" techniques are highly encouraged.
    • Club members need to pay $5 at each "Contest" sanctioned trip they attend. All of these dues are applied directly to the contest awards.
    •

    2002 Club Contests

    • The first fish landed of the inaugural season will receive a prize worth about 12.5% of the award money.
    • The largest fish for the season landed will receive a prize worth about 50% of the award money.
    • The largest fish on each trip will receive one fly from each other angler on that trip. (This is the only prize open to NMFC guests).
    • The first fish landed on the "Derby Day" will receive a prize worth about 12.5% of the award money.
    • The largest fish landed on "Derby Day" will receive a prize worth about 12.5% of the award money.
    • The most fish landed on "Derby Day" will receive a prize worth about 12.5% of the award money.
