Basic Facts
Since I am interested in weather, the precipitation aspect of climatologly to be exact, I thought I would start up a site representing data which is true at my home :-)
So I now keep track of my precipitation measurements & record them on
precipdly.html

Reason for the Site
Before not long ago, there was little difference between what was recorded in the national records from the Springfield/Branson Airport & what happened at my house. That came to an exceedingly quick halt when on 7/24/2002, they claim to have gotten only .12" & at my home in southern Springfield 1.26" showed up in the electronic gauge.
Small differences 'all comes out in the wash' (ie, the amount more they get than we on 1 day, is equalled out somewhere down the road by us getting more than they).

My Present Dreams for the Site
I definately want to show the amount of rain received yesterday, month-to-date, & year-to-date.
January/April/July/October are the months which begin the quarters for the year. Some sites with the rainfall include the amount for the current-quarter-to-date. It can show that even though a city is behind normal for the day and month, it is above average for the quarter. Just an interesting point, for me :-)
My dream is to possibly include on the page the rainfall in the past 3, 6, 9, 12 hours. All the web sites that have available places for such information leave them blank, at least as far as I have seen for Springfield.
My main reason for desiring to add this information is merely to provide such interesting data, rather than having to wait until the next day to find it out. Granted, it is nothing I *must* have, but find it interesting. So hope to someday include it.
But I will add it after doing the rest to make sure I haven't bitten off more than I can chew!
