Durant Station
Durant Road

This is a VERY rare photo.  I have never seen any photos of a New City Branch station with the exception of New City.  The Durant station, like Germonds, was a 3-sided open lean-to with a wooden bench.
This early 1930's photo was taken at the station that stood at Durant Road and Laurel Road (crossing the tracks).   The boys in the picture are a group of buddies and the submitter's uncle is in the middle.  Note the Eagle Scout on the right and the boy with the crown beanie on the left!
This station probably dates back to the early days of the New City Branch (1880's) and likely did not last much more than a decade after the picture was taken.
Location: Durant Road at Laurel Road, New City
In Use: 1880's-1930's (end of service)
Building existed: Same time period.
Type: 3 sided wooden lean-to passenger shelter.
Durant Today:
I visited the corner of Durant and Laurel in June 2001, and found nothing remaining of the railroad at all.  The area is now a residential neighborhood of 30- year old or so houses.  The area is reached by taking a right on to Laurel Road from 304 North.  The corner of Durant and Laurel is on your right and is the first cross-street you find.
