What Is a House Concert?
Just what it sounds like. We book a performer, clear our dining room (or backyard), set up chairs, sound and lights and put out a few snacks. It's an intimate, smoke-free evening of music. All money collected through the donation at the door goes to the performer.

Artist News

David Olney's new album, "Migration," includes some songs, "Lenora" and "Upside Down," that he played here in January.

Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion's first duo album, "Exploration," is in stores. It features their wonderful close harmonies, reminiscent of Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris.

Mary Gauthier has a new album, "Mercy Now," on Lost Highway Records. She again teams up with producer Gurf Morlix on a superb collection of tunes about being down and out.

Greg Trooper  released "Make It Through This World," one of the best of 2005 after working with the legendary Dan Penn as producer. He played several of the cuts, including "This I'd Do," "So Lonesome for You Now," and "When She Lies" at his November 2004 appearance.

Jeff Black's  new one is "Tin Lily," yet another powerful emotional statement.

Kevin Welch and Kieran Kane's "You Can't Save Everybody" tore up Americana radio. Paul Shugrue of WRHV-FM has been playing cuts, including the biting "Everybody's Working for the Man Again...," on his show, Out of the Box.

Eliza Gilkyson, the wondrous Eliza Gilkyson, just keeps getting better with her "Paradise Hotel," which won raves. She was a finalist for Best Contemporary Folk Album at the 2005 Grammys.
