Call of the Wild Huskies is situated on a beautiful 5 acre frontier style setting complete with log cabin in the foothills of SW Washington where Von's entire husky sled dog team enjoys the best that country living has to offer. Their 24' x 36' kennel barn and adjacent dog yard allows them to socialize daily and to enjoy both an indoor and outdoor lifestyle. Our race season runs from October through March each year. The team is trained three times weekly on rural forest roads beginning late September as weather cools.

About Von's Huskies
Von's Siberian Huskies were each rescued from county shelters just hours before they were to be euthanized as unwanted pets. Now they are doing what they love best - "running as a pack". The thankful appreciation expressed in their eyes is all the reward anyone could ask for. His kennel also includes numerous Alaskan Huskies adopted from mushing collegues who now enjoy their new home and extended life on the trail. Von fondly considers each dog a special member of his family.
At night the entire team of huskies sometimes raise their voices in a unified, eerie, yet hauntingly beautiful harmony! As their song carries across the pasture, reverberating off surrounding evergreens, we're reminded of their primordial, ancient kinship with wild wolves. It is this music that has earned them their kennel name . . .
