Attractive badge from the London & Lancashire Insurance Company. New York State seal is in the center. This Inspector might not be directly fire-related, but insurance companies did, and do, play a major role in fire prevention, protection and investigation.

A well-worn badge from the New York Board of Fire Underwriters with the title of Electrical Inspector. NYBFU is still an active organization and the parent of the New York Fire Patrol.

Perhaps this one belongs in Chapter 17 - Unique & Unusual. In the collection of the NYC Fire Museum, this is a vehicle plate from a car of the New York Fire Patrol, complete with a classic NYFP "double Maltese Cross" badge bearing the number "11". As you can see, the plate has been mounted on a wooden base and, I suspect, that it was made as a presentation piece.
