Jan had seen Pepe in photos, but saw him in in the flesh in Sydney winning the specialty under Helen Banks (Sunhawk Norwatch, UK). Jan spoke to his owner about taking him home to make up his New Zealand title. Pepi did earn his NZ title and was used at stud. He produced probably the best Eischied bitch ever bred, Eischied Rhyme 'n' Reason. He died at 7 when a tradesman left the gate open and he was run over. He was a big winning dog.
