CAREER RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT

During the course of the school year students enrolled in Freshwater/Marine Biology and Ecology will be required to conduct a research project on "Careers in Marine Biology." Use of the internet is highly encouraged to complete this assignment.
The following is a brief description of the careers available in Marine Biology and its related fields.

AQUACULTURE MICROBIOLOGIST a biologist dealing with microscopic life in sea water.

AQUARIST a curator, collector, or icthyologist associated with an aquarium.

AQUATIC CHEMIST a person versed in chemistry or professionally engaged in chemical operations of things living in or pertaining to water.

AQUATIC ENGINEER a person versed in the design, construction, and use of engines or machines, or of various branches of engineering of things living in or pertaining to the sea.

BIOLOGICAL OCEANOGRAPHER a person who deals with the biological make-up of the ocean.

CARTOGRAPHER a person that produces maps or charts including construction of projections, topography, sail routes, drafting, and reproduction.

CHEMICAL OCEANOGRAPHER a person who deals with the chemical make-up of the ocean.

CIVIL ENGINEER a person versed in the design, construction, and use of machines or engines for the citizens.

DIVEMASTER one who has mastered the art of deep sea diving.
