Marine Biology is an "A Level" elective course offered through Nottingham's science department. To take Marine Bio a student must have passed either "A Level" Biology or received a final grade of B or higher in "B Level" Biology as a prerequsite. Students registered in Marine Biology are usually seniors or juniors who either have an interest in pursuing a Biological career after graduation or have an immense interest in learning more about aquatic ecosystems and the life found within.
While enrolled in Freshwater/Marine Biology and Ecology, students learn all about terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems in a variety of ways. From classroom discussion, lectures, games, laboratory experiences, and field trips, the emphasis is on learning while still having a good time. Highlighting the year is our annual five day trip to the Marine Lab in Key Largo, Florida.
