Rallymaster "Before" Pictures
A front view of the scooter being stripped.  If you look closely you will see the mounting brackets on either side of the front forks which hold the front fender, like an LD.  Also visible are the ball-end levers, another Rallymaster detail.  You can see the round "Lambretta Lion" badge above the legshield emblem.  These were only used on UK machines.  The previous owner secured registration history on the machine and found that it had been registered in British Columbia, Canada beginning in 1968.
A side view of the bare frame.  Notice the front seat hinge bracket.  This does not use the usual sprung seat but rather an all-foam seat with a flat steel pan as the basis.
Here are the engine parts.  This scooter did not have any apparent engine mods.  It has a standard Li150 box, no porting and a 19mm carb.  You can see the machining on the chaincase side for the tach drive.  Obviously I'll be needing a new crankshaft!
The gearbox is in great shape but rust had gotten into the top end.
Here are the two side panels.  You can see the black "Dennis the Menace" stripes
still visible over the original red paint.  The right hand panel (left side of the picture) has suffered from the tin termite so it will be replaced.
Here is a better picture of the right side panel with the stripes more visible.  It was not sandblasted by the previous owner, Byron.  I will use it as a guide to spacing the stripes when I repaint the panels. The top black stripe does not go all the way to the top of the panel, instead there is red at the top.  This is not seen in most of the press photos of the Rallymaster, but I have seen it in other period  pictures.  Some individuals at a LCGB show mature enough to remember new Rallymasters claim the top stripe was red not black.  My guess is that it was a result of batch production and that both were originally released.
Here are some of the parts which didn't hold up to the weather all those years- battery tray, bridge piece, splash plate, exhaust and rear footboards.  These will all be replaced.  See the new and missing parts I have found so far!
