Here are the two original ball end levers (now polished). In the sixties, ball end levers were made by threading or pressing on separate balls onto pointy levers, unlike the all-cast type found today. Again, like the tach drive, this was a conversion also offered by dealers of the time. Here is a copy of the 1966 Arthur Francis catalog showing this style of lever.

Here's the headset top, with paint removed. The two holes are for the brackets which held the flyscreen. The other two attachment points for the brackets were the two side headlight rim screws.

This rear view of the blasted and primed frame shows the two upper rear rack holes enlarged. These two holes are where the rear handle/rear numberplate was originally bolted.

Here is the St. George Lion badge from the legshield. Since these were only fitted to UK Series 1/2 machines by the importers, this is a good indication that this machine was originally sold in the UK and imported into Canada sometime before 1968.

There were windscreen brackets on one side of the headset. Here are the two metal brackets. A nice touch is the countersink on the short bracket, where the headlight rim screw would hold it on. These show remnants of black paint and rubber grommets.
