PLEASE NOTE: Most items are made to order. Please allow 2-3 weeks for preparation of your items before shipping! We are constantly producing all of the items shown -- usually in small batches so that we can rotate thru the many different styles of kits. We'll ship from stock whenever possible!

YOUR QUESTIONS ARE IMPORTANT: We're here to make your hobby time more enjoyable ... if you have any questions while perusing our site or building our kits, please "fire away!" Most emails are answered within 24-48 hours.
ASSEMBLY OF KITS: Most of our kits require a "moderate" skill or experience level and some familiarity with hobby tools, adhesives and paints. Be sure to check out our Painting Tips for some surprisingly simple techniques. If you're returning to the hobby or new to On30, you'll find our detailed instructions very helpful ... but don't hesitate to write or email if you have questions!
BACKGROUND: Boulder Valley Models reflects my personal interest in On30 modeling -- seeking to help others build an interesting variety of equipment for their own model railroads. I've written a number of articles for the hobby magazines and you'll find that most of the BVM instructions are closer to a construction article than a typical instruction sheet. Lots of tips & techniques are presented. I produced the Loco-Motives line of N scale models and provided commercial painting/printing for other manufacturers and groups from 1979-1997. Boulder Valley Models began in 1999 with a desire to do "something new." So far, it's worked incredibly well -- I've never had so much fun as I've had with On30 modeling. I hope you'll try some of these kits and have a lot of fun too!
