COMMUNITY GARDENING
The American Community Gardening Association (ACGA) is a national nonprofit membership organization of professionals, volunteers and supporters of community greening in urban and rural communities.
The Capital District Community Gardens (CDCG) is in the Capital District of New York. Established in 1972, CDCG is a private non-profit community service organization that has been helping residents of Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady Counties improve their neighborhoods through community gardening and urban greening programs for more than 25 years.

The Sarah P. Duke Gardens - are often spoken of as the "Crown Jewel of Duke University," occupies 55 acres in the heart of the University's West Campus, adjacent to Duke University Medical Center. Joan, a former gardener with us at the Town of Guilderland Community Gardens, now shares her gardening expertise with the gardeners at Duke Gardens.
Cornell Plantations - Diverse living plant collections and natural features that delight and educate Cornell students and visitors of all ages.
The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University - The historical mission of the Arnold Arboretum is to increase knowledge of woody plants through research and to disseminate this knowledge through education.
Welcome to Trees of Union College - tour through some of the most distinctive trees on the Union College campus, Schenectady, NY. In this site, more than thirty trees are described, and are presented with photographs and a description from the College Arborist.
The Landis Arboretum - a public garden on 548 acres and six miles of hiking trails overlooking the Schoharie Valley near Esperance, New York. Forty acres are developed with plantings of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous perennials from around the world. The remainder of the property consists of natural areas, woodlands, and open fields reminiscent of the former farm on the site.

The National Gardening Association - NGA's mission is to renew the fundamental links between people, plants, and the Earth. Through exemplary programs in schools and communities nationwide, it promotes environmental stewardship, advance standards-based learning and science literacy, and create partnerships that restore and enhance communities.
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society - is a not-for-profit membership organization founded in 1827. Under the leadership of Jane G. Pepper, it provides great events, activities and publications for novice gardeners, experienced horticulturists, and flower lovers of all ages.
GARDEN SEED AND PLANT SOURCES
Rohrer Seeds - located in Smoketown PA, the heart of Lancaster County, known as "America's Garden Spot".A family owned and operated business established in 1919 by P.L. Rohrer.
Evergreen Seeds - This site offers more than 300 varieties of Oriental vegetable seeds. You will find all sorts of Asian vegetables that you can grow in your garden/farm.
St. Lawrence Nurseries -  a small, family-run business in Potsdam, New York that specializes in cold-hardy edible plants. The Nursery was started in the 1920's by Fred Ashworth, a Northern New York farmer and plant breeder of hardy fruit and nut trees. Now owned by Bill MacKentley, Fred's friend and apprentice.
Catskill Native Nursery - specializes in nursery-propagated North American perennials, fruits, shrubs and trees. Native plants are a natural choice for woodland, meadow, and aquatic gardens.
ANIMAL ADVOCACY
Doris Day Animal League - working to reduce the pain and suffering of non-human animals through legislative initiatives and the enforcement of existing laws that protect animals.
NATURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SITES
The Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy - The Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy was formerly the Albany County Land Conservancy. Here you will find information about the MHLC, its members and the work they do for the residents of the greater Capital Region and Mohawk-Hudson region of New York State.
Save the Pine Bush - is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization dedicated to saving the Albany Pine Bush, a globally rare ecosystem in New York State.
CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS
CommunityCaregivers - over 450 neighbors who give a helping hand to others in the Guilderland, Bethlehem, New Scotland, Berne and Knox neighborhoods.
Hudson Valley Garlic Festival - Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Saugerties, this annual fall festival in Saugerties, New York celebrates the harvest season with its generous life-sustaining gifts and, particularly, the natural health and food-enhancing benefits of garlic. Funds from this event supports deserving groups such as the Kiwanis Club Ice Arena, the Girl Scouts, the Boy Scouts, the Boy's and Girl's Clubs, Saugerties Area Council of Churches, Saugerties High School student scholarships, the Saugerties Mum Festival, the Key Club, the Builders Club, the American Cancer Society, the American Legion, the Blue Kats, Children's Annex, Diaz Ambulance, the Woodstock School of Art, the Saugerties Christmas tree lighting, and the "Coats for Kids" program.
