Welcome to the Town of Guilderland Community Gardens, an organic garden, located in Albany County in the Capital Region of New York State, USA. The gardens are situated in Tawasentha Park on Route 146, ½ mile west of and on the opposite side of the road from the main entrance to the park.
The gardens were first cultivated in 1989 and consisted of 15 garden lots that were made available to residents of the Town of Guilderland. Today, the gardens have expanded to almost 100 garden lots enjoyed by 50 Guilderland gardeners. Lots are available in a variety of sizes to meet each gardener's need; most lots are approximately 690 sq. feet. (62 sq. meters)
The gardeners cultivate a wide variety of fruits, flowers and vegetables for family, friends and for those in need.
The gardens also include an apiary, bluebird houses, the historic Houck barn, a pond - Peace Pond - stocked with Triploid Grass Carp (not to mention an occasional beaver), a hoop house (53.5 sq. meters) and a gardeners' pavilion and picnic area that is available for use by all residents of the Town.
We look forward to hearing from you!
