OCEAN STATE VILLAGERS AND COLLECTORS YEARLY EVENTS

Our New Year starts off with our annual Club Members Open Houses that are from December thru March for all members to view village displays.  Here our club members open up their homes to other members. They proudly show off their displays, give their club friends ideas, tips and, most of all, a lot of appetizing foods and fun.

In February, we have our first meeting of the New Year.  Seeing as this is the first meeting, it is always packed with new and old club members enjoying each others company and sharing holiday stories.  We go over the events for the upcoming year.

In April, we celebrate our club birthday with a cake, hot and cold buffet, many kinds of delicious desserts and other homemade goodies generously donated by our members.

In May, our club has a Breakfast Fundraiser at Dave's Bar & Grill in Warwick.  This includes your favorite breakfast entrees as well as a homemade omelet station.

In July, we have an outstanding picnic at one of our club members homes with great food, games and a lots of fun and sun.

In August, we have a  variety of functions whether it be a Sock Hop, Country & Western or Dinner Dance. Each year is something different.

In September, we have our Fall Harvest Craft Show and Attic Treasurers.  Vendors from Avon, Tupperware, Princess House, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Home and Gardens,  Home Interiors, and more are our special guests sellers.

In November, we have our elections and the nominations of our next year's board and committee chairpeople.  This meeting, just like our February one, is packed as it is the last meeting of the year. Everyone wants to get as much club event detail before the long holiday season begins. Our Calendar of Events is full of activities during this time, and they don't want to miss a minute of it..

We end the year with a spectacular Christmas party featuring a different theme every year. One year it was Dickens, the next it was nautical. Who knows what other themes we will come up with. We always have  good food, great atmosphere, a lot of games, door prizes and entertainment. We also have toys going to a neighborhood association, as well as warm clothing and generous donations to brighten up these children's Christmas. Our members and guests also donate gifts at the Christmas party and the November meeting for all the special children and families at Christmas.

Our club also has Bingo Games, Make and Take Meetings, Container Contests, Village Display Contests, Auctions, Early Releases of the New Pieces and Mid Year Pieces are shown on Slide Shows, Soup Can Kitchen at  every meeting, Ronald McDonald House charities, Thanksgiving Baskets and Toys for the Needy Children at Christmas.
