JULY MINUTES:
The
July 9,2007 meeting of the OVAHC Club was opened by
Jon Andorn, president, by thanking Mark and Tammy Neumann for hosting.
A
past member (now a current member) of the club was introduced, Judy Law, and was
welcomed by all.
About
50% of national members renewed on line. Officers will required to belong to the
AHCA in the future.
There
will be changes in the insurance to $1,000,000 umbrella coverage.
V.P.
Tom Hall All systems are go for Hoxworth to come to BCD.
Treasurer Dale Ballinger Financial report given. All members who helped and
participated in the last Auto Cross were thanked. Two Rib City coupons were
returned to Dale. A vote was taken to include them in the BCD door prizes. An
extra $5 was put into the general fund.
The
Kreuter's name was picked for the attendance prize, but they were absent. The
prize money will roll over to the next meeting.
Secretary Nancy Hall There were 18 club members and 4 children plus 3
associates who attended the Vermont Conclave. A very good number considering the
distance and the size of our club.
Nancy
thanked Bill Ebersol in person at the Vermont Conclave for the gift their club
gave us for helping and attending last year's conclave in Akron.
Hazel
won top prize in the adult arts and crafts division on the conclave and brought
the quilt that won to the meeting.

Editor Mary Ann Everyone seems to like the new Newsleak paper and color
pictures. Doug Menkhaus is printing it. Mary Ann and Doug are doing a great job.
Before going on with the meeting, Julie and Dennis Buchanan were introduced as
new members. Clap, Clap, Clap.
Activity On August 25, Saturday, an ice cream social will take place after
viewing and getting our pictures taken with the new barn quilt square. It is
close to Dale and Sandy's house in Kentucky. A picture is posted on the web and
a picture was passed around.
Other
venues were discussed including Shipschwana, Bear Creek, and Hocking Hills. A
hand vote was taken and Hocking Hills won. This outing was regarding the
Columbus Day holiday.
Tech
Support Bernie Grabow No report. Tom Osborne would like to have an "Assembly"
tech session at his house on Aug. 11 at 10:00 am. Directions to his house will
follow.
Delegate Don Klein Don reported that there were 400 registrants for the
Vermont Conclave and 350 Healeys.
The
national bylaws will be getting a makeover.
The
conclave hotel apologized for the paving inconvenience.
We,
as a club, are going to donate to the Make a Wish Foundation and our money will
stay locally.
The
next Conclave will be in San Diego.
The
2009 Conclave will be in Kingston, S. Ontario.
The
National Healey Club has 3427 members.
There
is conflict with 2008 Spring Thing and the Sprite Spree in Harrisburg, Pa.
Archivist Judy Chamberlain Judy has some new DVDs that were $230 and much
better than the old ones.
Don
said the next delegates meeting will be Nov. 9,10 and 11 in Louisville, Ky.
Bernie took about 100 pictures at Conclave and will be available at a future
date.
Next
gymkhana will be Aug. 5, Sunday.
Mary
Ann suggested having weekend club meetings during January and February. Most
were in agreement. More discussion to follow.
A
sign-up sheet was passed around for food contributions to the August picnic at
the Halls. Please call Nancy at 812-637-2468 for a salad, dessert or side dish.
