Owning a stallion obviously has its pros and cons, but if handled right and well, the stallion can be one the easiest genders to train and work with. The stallion is much more sensitive and responsive than a what a mare or gelding might be.
And because of his "raging hormones" he will have more presence and may have an enhanced athletic ability. The key to having a great relationship with a stallion is to have a mutual respect. A strong hand is not all-the-time necessary if he knows that you are his partner, not his master.
In fact most circus trainers prefer stallions because of their trainability. And for this same reason, famous schools and stunt riders also prefer the stallion as a mount. (The Spanish Riding School and Gerard Naprous)
