This is my beloved Scarlett who I got July of 2000. She is an Arabian/Quarter Horse and the only thing that I really know about her is that she was born in the Spring of 1990. This first picture was taken the Spring of 2001.

This is the only good picture I think that I have of me on Scarlett. It suprised me at how good this picture came out given the picture was taken with one of those cheap cameras and by a then 13 year old. The picture really shows the gorgeous arch of her tail! ~January 2003~

This picture really means something to me. Just a few weeks after I got Scarlett, July 4th to be exact, my cousins down the road were popping firecrackers and Scarlett had been really energetic. I was in the yard washing the car and my mom and my sister Megan (the one on Scarlett) were in the field and Megan was running behind Scarlett. She popped her on the butt and Scarlett kicked her in the mouth. She lost a few teeth and a piece of her tongue. Now I know Megan should have known not to do that, but that's Megan. She has no fear when it comes to horses. The amazing thing is that my dad was ready to put Scarlett down, but he wanted Megan's opinion. She came home and dad asked her what she wanted to do with her. On her pad of paper she wrote, "I want to ride." Scarlett has never attempted to kick again and she and Megan have a very special relationship. ~January 2003~

The first time I saw Scarlett, I knew that eventually I would breed her. What I wanted was a foal just like her, only painted. The thing was the to find a stallion that was perfect. By December of 2003 I had narrowed it down to two stallions. Then this one came along by accident. I was talking at work and a nurse said she had a homozygous paint stallion. This is Rebel. The perfect stallion. ~July 2003~
