Our group is based on the Internet so that parents can join us from anywhere.

To reach any parent/ caregiver who needs caring support in parenting their child or children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder or related conditions.

We are a voluntary group of parents helping each other.

Meet the Staff of Parent to Parent - Parents Chat:

ParentsChat Host: Marian

Hi, I started this chat group because I wanted to join a parent support group for autism.  At the time, I couldn't find a support group close to home.  So, I started this group in August 2002 by contacting some parents from the ANDI pass group.

My son Davey who was 4 years old at the time is now 9 years old (2008).  He was diagnosed with ASD/ PDD (Autism Spectrum Disorder/Pervasive Developmental Disorder). I started him on the Gluten Free/Casein Free and Feingold dietary intervention for over a year and had great results.  I moved him onto the SCD (specific carbohydrate diet) after a year and a half when it seemed he was regressing.  He is doing well on the SCD with enzymes, probiotics and vitamin/mineral supplements.  We've had Early Intervention twice a week with speech and occupational therapy twice a month for him from 22 months to 46 months.  He also attended a toddler program and a special needs preschool.  Currently, he is in our school district inclusive 3rd grade with help from early intervention specialist and the teacher's aide.
