My Family Heritage

My Stark and Mittman lines of the family come from Germany. My husbands Auer and Ward lines come from Sweden and Switzerland. As you follow the generations, there are numerous other family names connected. We are from Dupage County, Illinois.

Our Ancestors

My Stark line starts with Johann Stark and Kunigunde Eichelmann abt.1656 in Essleben, Germany. On down the tree John and Ottilie Stark came to this country in 1848 from Oberstreu, Germany. From this couple started a very large family line. Most of the Starks were farmers. The Mittman line started with George and Caroline (Goetzinger) Mittman from Germany. The Auer family started with Hans Michel and Afra (Muhlibergin)Auer in Oberhallau, Switzerland. The Ward family began with Francis G. and Albertina (Johnson) from Ostergotland, Sweden.

My Current Research

When time permits, and sometimes even when it doesn't, I search for more family connections and where in the other countries all these people came from.
