Vision
“Ensure adequate resources to meet the needs of members, as stated in the strategic goals and objectives of the North Carolina State Firemen’s Association ( NCSFA ), through strategic financial planning and management, utilizing the most modern technology and methods, while maintaining a fiscally sound base.”
I have become intimately aware of the financial business of the Association during my tenure as a Director, Statistician, and President. I have become convinced that we need to change the basic philosophy of financial planning and management if we are to be successful in accomplishing our strategic goals. I believe that I am qualified to carry out the responsibilities of the Treasurer's office and to provide the financial leadership necessary to meet he growing needs of the Association.

Purpose
The purpose of this home page is to share information about the candidate and the financial issues facing the North Carolina State Firemen's Association. While serving as President, I led a complex process of customer centered strategic planning. The foundation of the planning process was seeking input from the members through a series of focus groups in every region of the State. With the help of a professional facilitator, the Board developed and adopted a strategic plan to achieve the memberships desires for benefits and programs. We must begin to approach our financial planning in a similar strategic fashion. Due to existing policies and practices, we are actually in a recovery phase from missed financial opportunities. We have only averaged approximately 4.5% return on investments during the strongest decade for investments in this century. We must act now. This is a campaign of issues, not personalities.
