Part 1 crimes are all serious felonies and include murder, non-negligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny-theft, vehicle theft and arson.
Manteca is a safe place to live when violent crime statistics are reviewed. Our violent crime index of 484 crimes per 100,000 population was well below the State and National Violent Crime Index.

Once again, comparison of Violent Crime against our surrounding cities and similar cities in the State shows that our rate of violent crimes is very much lower than prevalent.
