* Charter Member
   The Portland Valley Chapter of the Knights of Saint Andrew was chartered on January 2, 2002. Our charter was issued by Wichita Knights of Saint Andrew and accepted and approved by Ill. James J. Taylor, 33°, SGIG in Oregon.  The appointed officers were installed on February 19, 2002.  All 32°  Degree Black Cap Scottish Rite Masons are eligible to belong to this elite group. Contact any officer or the Scottish Rite office for information.

Like the Knights Templar of old, who struggled at the ancient site of King Solomon’s Temple, the aim of the Knights of Saint Andrew is to provide a selfless dedication to the Valley of Portland, so that our brethren and their families may have a more enjoyable experience while visiting our valley.

An organization with multiple functions, we are here to provide services where they are needed.  This includes, but is not limited to, greeting and escorting visitors, relieving Tylers who faithfully guard the outer door, assisting stage crews and stewards, as well as other duties that may arise.  If you observe a Mason ably assisting at Scottish Rite functions, he will be, more often than not, a member of the Knights of Saint Andrew.

The variety of activities we will be involved in will make us one of the most active organizations in the Valley of Portland.  We have indicated a sincere wish to be of service to our brothers, their families, as well as visiting dignitaries; while at the same time gaining a deeper admiration and respect for the Scottish Rite.   Our motto is “Service and Leadership”
.
