Peter Halliday - Calligrapher  "I believe in promoting contemporary calligraphy and fine lettering to as wide a public as possible by exhibiting, teaching and demonstrating wherever and whenever I can so that the fine quality of hand made letters can be appreciated by as many as possible. Calligraphy is both an abstract art form and a precise traditional craft. I use a wide variety of techniques and materials, some not normally associated with calligraphy and illumination, to create the effects which will assist me in interpreting the ideas contained in language and to help in portraying subject and nuance.
