If you're looking for up to the minute pet-friendly rentals, we highly suggest checking out some of the organizations below:
- Pets and People Homefinders at www.pets-people.com. We've heard good things about this service and think it's worthy of checking out. For a $69.00 fee, you get tips on how to find pet-friendly rentals plus two months worth of listings released five days a week.
- Check out www.petsrwelcome.com. Like Pets and People Homefinders above, it is a list for fee service. You'll have to contact them yourself to find out what the current fee is.
Also Check Out...
- Check the classified sections of your local newspapers DAILY. All of them! The Recycler, L.A. Times, Daily News, Argonaut, Penny Saver...anything that comes your way with listings in it! Click Here for a guide to all newspapers in California. Don't just call the numbers that state that pets are OK, also call those within your price range in areas you're seeking. Ask them if they'd consider pets. You'll find that many will. Be as cooperative as possible with them and offer to set up a one-on-one meeting with them and your pet. Bring resumes for your pets, letters of recommendation and whatever else you think would make a good impression on them! For more tips, check out the SPCA and Humane Society of the United States rental programs.
- Drive around neighborhoods you would like to live in. Call every number on every FOR RENT sign you see. Start early in the morning on weekends and call early! This is probably one of the best ways to pinpoint a place in your desired area of living.
- Most important, DON'T GIVE UP! Something will come your way!
