Savannah Santas
Combining Old World tradition with Old South charm, every handcarved Savannah Santa emerges from a single block of basswood. It is then painted, antiqued, and preserved with a hand-rubbed beeswax finish. These original folk art carvings truly reflect the spirit of outsider art because the carvers are entirely self-taught. Each Savannah Santa woodcarving bears a signature shamrock and is signed, dated, and one-of-a-kind - a wonderful addition to any Santa collection.
| Super Star Santa

Larry and Catherine Blocker began creating Savannah Santas after they received an instruction book, two carving knives, and several blocks of basswood as Christmas gifts. For the past few years, they have carved and painted Santas primarily by request, but Savannah Santas have also been sold in specialty shops in Atlanta, GA. In the tradition of outsider or folk artists, they are entirely self-taught.
The Blockers live on the coast in Richmond Hill, a suburb of Savannah, GA. All four of their children have adjusted to living with Santas everywhere in various stages of completion. As one son points out, the ever-present wood shavings give the impression that "a family of beavers lives here."
