Who are: Hat Ladies in Waiting:
Monett and Pierce City-area Pink Hatters?
"Hat Ladies in Waiting: Monett and Pierce City-area Pink Hatters" is an official chapter of the Red Hat Society® (RHS) in Missouri. Kristin, Princess Lavender, is our pink-hatted chapter queen. We have welcomed both red and pink hat members since our first gathering in December 2001. Many RHS chapters welcome red and pink hatters of all ages!
Red Hatters celebrate life after 50 and wear red hats and purple outfits to have fun! The color scheme is based on the Jenny Jones poem Warning which begins "When I am an old woman I will wear purple and red hat that doesn't go..."
Pink Hatters are full members of RHS but must wear pink hats and lavender outfits until they reach age 50. We look forward to that birthday day when we can "Red-uate" and finally put on the red hat.
Who are: the "Foxy Ladies?" - "Foxy Ladies" (formerly known as "Red Hat Ladies") is an official RHS chapter in Southwest Missouri (Pierce City/Monett-area). This RHS chapter is 99% red hatters. Ev is their Queen Mum.

Sue Ellen Cooper, Exalted Queen Mother and founder of RHS, sent this description of "Pink Hatters" to Princess Lavender:
“Pink Hatters are 'little sisters' to Red Hatters. They may be under the age of 50, but they are Red Hatters in spirit. They play right alongside their big sisters, practicing to be full-fledged Red Hatters some day. Whether the “big birthday” is a long way off or very soon to come, they are already sharing in our silliness as well as our mutual support system. And we love having them!”
