Tangle of Lies
by Patricia Potter

Romantic Suspense the way it should be, June 19, 2006

Patricia Potter has taken a genre and made it her own. Ms. Potter is known for her exquisite historical romances and now she has taken the romance suspense and added her own special recipe. Tangle of Lies grips you from the very first page and doesn't let you go until the very end. Liz Connor, the main character, has you by her side emotionally supporting her as you turn each page, from the moment she hears that her mother has been accused of a murder that happened 30 years ago, to the struggle with a relationship that is bound to fail because of the tangle of lies that have surrounded her. Clear your schedule, you don't want to be interrupted once you start reading this book!

The Secrets Of Rosa Lee
by Jodi Thomas

Disappointing, June 13, 2006

I enjoy Jodi Thomas's books but this time I was disappointed. With each page I turned I felt as if I had read the book before, even though I know I hadn't. There were times during the story when I was confused and had to flip back and reread sections to see if I could understand what I missed. Sometimes, I couldn't find what I missed and it left me wanting. I'm not sure if it is Ms. Thomas's writing in this book or if her content
editor wasn't on target. Normally, I find Ms. Thomas's books engaging and moving, this time--well, we all have our off days. I will still grab her books to read.

Deadly Impulse
 by Olga Bicos

Struck by lightning! Or was he? , June 2, 2006

Ms Bicos has written an awesome story of suspense and intrigue. Romantic suspense is not one of my particular choices of a good read. But after reading the back cover it intrigued me enough to open the book and try it out. It was worth it. The book was a page turner. For a bit there in the middle it slowed down, rehashing the plot but once the "reminders" were given to the reader it zoomed again. Good book to curl up and read on a stormy evening with thunder as the background music.

Bride of Lochbarr
by Margaret Moore

A Winner, June 1, 2006

Ms. Moore has taken the damsel in distress and twisted it into a witty and fun read. Lady Marianne wants to run away from a forced betrothal and when Adair MacTaran swoops in to save her, she resists. The adventure starts from there and tickles you with a genuine sense of humor, passion, and wit. Leave your afternoon open for this book. You won't want to put it down.

Lord Of Dunkeathe
 by Margaret Moore

Outstanding, June 1, 2006

Once in a while I like to pick up Medieval Romances and I believe I have found another favorite author. Margaret Moore doesn't just write, she weaves a tale that draws you into the story as if you are involved in the lives of her characters. She goes beyond the reader's dreams and makes her characters real people, with real personalities that you can relate to because -- you know someone like that! You cheer when the bad guy doesn't win and the knight in shining armor prevails. I am looking forward to more medieval romances from this author.

The Sweetwood Bride
by Pamela Morsi

Captivating Romance, June 1, 2006

Time and time again, Pamela Morsi proves she belongs on the best seller list. We have a shotgun wedding forced on an innocent man by a young woman who has connived and tricked the town into believing she was seduced. Of course, no one believes Moss Collier--the old -- guilty before innocent creeps in the minds of the townspeople and whips up a good storyline. But it wasn't just any father she wanted for her brother and sisters, it had to be someone special. Eulie Toby's well constructed plan backfires as the two struggle with their newlywed status, his inner battle to be free of the Tennessee mountains and the desire for the warmth of a good woman by his side.
Grab a nice cup of tea, a few snacks to tie you over and enjoy.
