September Reviews
Reunion by Nora Roberts
Curl up with a good book, September 29, 2006
Once More With Feeling
I've always thought second time around, second chances when it came to romance was pretty much a person's way of trying to hold onto the past. Ms Roberts has taken a hold onto the past situation and made it a happily ever after. Through the whole story I had a warm, happy feeling even when the main characters were struggling with their ghosts. It was a good story, definitely the kind to read curled up on the couch with a cup of tea.
Treasures Lost, Treasures Found
An excellent story! I whipped through this book and was disappointed when I was finished. I was not, by any means, disappointed because of the way it was written. I didn't want the story to end! I wanted to keep on reading about the new found romance. Fascinating, intriguing, intense and straight to the heart.
The Savage
by Parris Afton Bonds
One hundred willing maids for marriage
Out of the frying pan and into the fire. This adventurous story brings you to Colonial Virginia where Modesty finds herself choosing between being married to a wild man, named Mad Dog, or being burned as a witch. A clash of two willful, stubborn and feisty personalities keeps you turning the pages to find out what they will get themselves into next. A tale worth reading.
Almost a Bride by: Jane Feather
A Sweet Romance, September 18, 2006
This story is right up to par along with the rest of Ms. Feather's novels. A feisty heroine, Arabella, and a revengeful hero named Jack clash and play witty games with each other. Kick your feet up and enjoy, from the very first pages with him winning an estate and all it's contents to the last page where ... (no I am not going to spoil the ending) ... you smile in satisfaction, Almost a Bride is one of the better historical romances available on the shelf. It is a delightful story immersing the reader into each scene, a romance to keep you turning the pages until the very end. Definitely a book to read.
A Loving Scoundrel by Johanna Lindsey
Sweet and romantic, September 12, 2006
This book is one of the Malory novels. The Malory series makes you feel like part of the family. You just know what is going to happen, you just don't know how it is going to happen. Ms. Lindsey keeps it going strong and unexpected, just like real life. This is a sweet, happily ever after story that has you drooling in anticipation of what will happen next. Enjoy!
A Lady Betrayed: And One for All (Zebra Ballad Romance) by Kate Silver
This one is a toss up ..., September 8, 2006
It's the three musketeers, female version. Courtney Ruthgard was pampered and spoiled. Pierre Tournay is a musketeer who seduces her, betrays her by throwing her father in prison and then she joins the King's Guard and becomes a musketeer. Underneath the turmoil of rebellion against the king, he has to prove to her that he really did love her.
Interesting twists, with a good revenge plot. Enjoy.
Wild Orchids by Jude Deveraux
An unforgettable, enchanting story, September 1, 2006
Be prepared to live in this story. From page one to the very last sentence, you will feel as if you are a character in the book. You will experience and observe, as an innocent bystander, the changing scenes ... as the pages flip past your fingers. Your heart will race with the fear, passion and the excitement of the characters that surround you. This is a powerful and memorable book. Ms Deveraux has written an unforgettable, enchanting story that will stay with you for a very, very long time.
