“Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children.” Deuteronomy 11:18-19

Missions Update “Fall 2005”

Dear Praying Friends,

As we quickly come to the end of another year I wish to extend to all of you with much thanksgiving in my heart for all of your support and prayers that enable us to preach and teach the Word of God to these troubled children.

Since my last letter many things have happened at Mt. Meigs. One blessing is that over the last couple of years I have been trying to get the chapel renovated. Well with help from the Mt. Meigs Chapel Board, the campus maintenance department and Mrs. Lewis the campus administrator, the building is looking great.  The stained glass windows have been repaired, the grounds outside have been landscaped, the exterior of the building has been painted, the carpets have been cleaned and the ceiling has been repaired and painted.  God is so good to us at Mt. Meigs by surrounding me with such faithful friends.

Psalms 100:2,4;  “Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Service in the chapel has been sweet with many boys accepting Gods free gift of salvation and those that are saved growing in the Lord. We are still praying for the Lord to provide us with a man to work with the boys on music. These kids love to sing, they just need a good leader.

The chapel was popping in October with several events. We had a three-day revival with Gulf Coast Prison Ministries. Then our annual Harvest Time Chapel Madness that was hosted by Bible Baptist Church from Alabaster, Alabama. Now we are looking forward to the annual Christmas Party hosted by the Mt. Meigs Chapel Board. We will be serving Christmas dinner to all the boys and Brother Mike Kelly from Rock of Ages Prison Ministries will be our guest speaker. The boys always look forward to this event. There will be good food, singing, preaching and gifts for all.

Please keep the boys of Mt. Meigs in your prayers this holiday season. Although we do all we can to try and comfort their hearts and provide them with a taste of home, this time of year is always the most depressing. Many get very home sick and lonely. Please just keep them in your prayers.

In closing, with remembrance of the birth of our dear Savior, my wife and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Keep us in your prayers, as you will be in ours. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you all.

Because He First Loved Us,
Chaplain George E. Trapani
