Missionary George E Trapani
Office (334) 215-6081
Greetings in the name of the Lord,
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is George E Trapani, a missionary working within the Juvenile Justice System in the state of Alabama. I have been working with these troubled teens for the past nine years and have been full time for the past four years. After being a troubled youth myself, the Lord has placed a love within my heart for these lost and dying children.
After 28 years wasted on the world, flesh, and the devil, the Lord saved my soul in 1988. After salvation I became an active member of Charity Baptist Church in Pensacola Florida, where I sat under the direction of my pastor and friend Dr James McGaughey, for eight years. While there I graduated from Gulf Coast Bible Institute in Fort Walton Beach Florida, a ministry of Gulf Coast Baptist Church in 1994. Shortly after graduation the Lord opened my eyes to the desperate need for good Bible believing men to reach the growing number of youthful offenders in America.
There is a growing problem in America, the condition of the American teen. Even within our churches we have a growing problem with unruly children. When I began working in the system, there were about 2 million teens incarcerated in the U.S. In Just 9 years, that number has more than doubled and I have personally seen the age of these youthful offenders drop. My heart breaks as each year goes by, the numbers go up, and the ages go down. Because of this growing problem, the expense of reaching these young people has increased as well.
The Juvenile Justice System provides no compensation for religious activities. I have been the full time chaplain of three facilities and have never received a dime of state money. All books, Bibles, events, supplies, and salary have come from the support of God's people. Because of this, the state has no control over the services and doctrine taught. As long as we abide by the rules, regulations, and confidentiality laws governing these children, we have liberty to do as the Spirit leads.
Since the Lord called me into this type of ministry, I have had the privilege of starting works in 8 facilities, chaplained 3 of those 8, trained men for this ministry and have seen many, many, young people saved and fed from the Word of God. I have also been available for youth rallies and revivals as well. God has truly blessed this ministry.
I am currently the full time chaplain of the Mt Meigs Complex in Montgomery, Alabama. Mt Meigs is the largest Juvenile Facility in the state with 314 beds. We house everything from petty criminals to sex offenders, as well as those who have committed violent crimes. There are 13 separate dorms of 24 beds each, giving me a lot of ground to cover. Because of the great number and size of the complex, much time is required to effectively minister to these young people. I personally hold services and Bibles studies each week on the campus, monitor volunteers, and schedule special events like revivals and concerts.
My request to you, my friends, is that you will allow me to come to your church and share my burden and ministry with you and your congregation to see if this ministry would be one you would like to support prayerfully and financially. I need your help to continue to reach out to these lost and dying children who so desperately need the Lord Jesus Christ. I would love to schedule a time and date to come and tell you about the ministry and see if you would like to join hands together to reach this generation of lost young people. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
Because He First Loved Us,
Missionary George E Trapani
