I'd forgotten
7.09.01
Isn't it strange how we forget certain things
like what I looked like before I had all these rings
Of chubbyness around my face
I should never have looked like that what a disgrace
I've just looked in the mirror and thought wow
my chin is not round anymore but kind of square now

Through August I didn't really try so i'm still 9 stone
but it's ok i'm not going to moan
Lately i've been trying really hard to lose weight
it may have something to do with having a new mate
  
Yes, after 2 years of being on my own, i'm now part of a pair
i've met someone really nice, it feels a little strange  but I will dare
To say that i'm happy, he makes me feel good
didn't think i'd meet someone nice, didn't think I could

I'd forgotten what it feels like to be hugged
very nice, I feel a little smug
And the first kiss
was something not to be missed

So Richard if you're out there looking in
thank you for making me happy again.
I've tried so hard this week

Well for the past week i've been trying really hard
and I don't feel so much like a lump of lard
Yet i've stayed the same weight that's 9 stone
just bear with me here i'm entitled to a little moan

I've even taken to drinking that slimfast stuff
and i'll tell you this it's not easy it's tough
Not like on the T.V when they say
'It's easy have one for breakfast and one for lunch and a meal in the evening and the weight will come off right away'

Rubbish is all I can say to that
i'm still 9 stone and that's a fact
But onwards i'll go even if it's to take a year and losing it is so very slow

But things might speed up a little soon
next week i'm going swimming and i'll brave it by putting on a costume
I know that I shouldn't care what others think but I do
so that's why i've not been near a pool in a year or two.

My beautiful daughter is called Hannah
her daddy has always called her Spanner
I think only because it rhymed
to me she's my Pudding and will be for all time

Her best friend is a caterpillar, grandma called him a worm a wiggly
but Hannah couldn't say wiggly worm so she called him Gigee
He's blue and he rattles and has 6 legs
and talks to mummy even though she hasn't a clue what's he's said

Unfortunately in Southend one day
whilst in her buggy sleeping he changed into a butterfly and flew away
Really Hannah dropped him and mummy didn't know
she then spent 30 minutes trying to find him but couldn't that was a big blow

For 3 1/2 years they had been best friends
but mummy knew how to make amends
Out of a blue top she made a new toy
So Hannah still has her best friend which brings her a lot of joy

At about 2 years old she could talk an awful lot
but we had trouble with sitting on the pot
It was more often used for head gear
that one day it would be full was mummy's greatest fear
It did take a little longer than most to learn to walk
but she made up for this, before most other kids she could talk

Now she's learning how to read and doing very well
it won't be long before she can spell
She's getting good at writting in her work book
and she's very proud when mummy takes a look

She likes the rough and tumble it's true
it's funny what she puts her daddy through
She insists she sits upon his back like a rider
and he throws her up in the air like an aeroplane glider
She screams and laughs and crys out no
and when he stops she always asks for another go

She wants to be chased up and down the hall
and her favourite is throwing and catching a ball
She loves to paint,to stick and glue
and to play with playdough too

In September to big school she will go
and she tells mummy every single day 'I'm getting bigger you know'
