WHO ARE WE ??
PWP - WHO AND WHAT WE ARE !!
We are not a singles club, even though we are single.
We are not a lonely hearts club, even though many of us started out lonely.
We are not a marriage bureau, even though many of our members do remarry.
We are not a party group, even though we do have parties.
We are not a dating bureau, even though we do date.
We are not a religious group, even though we do have many people of all religions.
The point we have in common is: WE ARE SINGLE PARENTS. We are single due to death, divorce, separation, or having never been married. We are tall, fat, thin, rich, poor, working class, and upper class. We hold activities in homes, parks, halls, lounges, and churches. We are people who are seen every day in all walks of life. We do bleed when cut. We have members who are the good, the bad, the nice looking, and not so nice looking. We are the ones who when we became single did not enjoy going from bar to bar, nor were we content to stay home and feel sorry for ourselves. We had the need to grow, to get involved, to get our children involved, to let them know that they are no different from any other child. We also needed to know that we were all right. PWP helped to fill our needs and showed us that we had a new life and a lot of new friends to make. We are mainly an educational and family group, but with our children gone, also. We have gone through all stages of loneliness and depression. We have gone, or are going from a very low point in our life to a very high one. We can proudly look to anyone in the eye and say "I Am Who I Am" and mean it. We are recognized by the courts, judges, lawyers, doctors, ministers, and the members of our communities. WHO ARE WE? We are: PEOPLE WITH PRINCIPLES, PEOPLE WITH PURPOSE, PARENTS WITH PRIDE, and PARENTS WITHOUT PARTNERS.
