Choose two fabrics, a light and a dark.

You will need:

Light fabric:

  • Section A -- Cut 8 squares 2 5/8". These are cut in half diagonally to make 16 triangles.

Dark fabric:

  • Section B -- Cut 8 squares 2 5/8". These are cut in half diagonally to make 16 triangles.

Directions for sewing: (All seams are 1/4 ".)

**Pay close attention to the exploded block for placement of pieces.

  • a. Join 1 light A triangle to one dark B triangle to make 16 half square triangle blocks.
  • b. Join the half square triangle blocks together in rows carefully following the dark/light placement in the exploded diagram.

*Note: There are many ways to make 1/2 square triangles, you may wish to use an alternate method than that stated here. For example, Thangles, Triangles on a roll, or check these websites for additional information.
